Nice to see a video of my hometown, but it seems you had only a walk in a small part of the city centre (approximately the are between the cathedral and the castle. But the city centre is much bigger, keeping in mind that in the 16th century it was the second biggest city of Northern Europe, Paris was the biggest.
Not one of the 3 beguinages (two of them world heritage sites) seem to be mentioned. The southern part ofthe city centre with most faculties of the university offers architectural gems like Sint-Peter's Abbey with it's magnificent baroque church, or the early modernist tower of the University Library. Another unexplored area seems the neighbourhood Prinsenhof, where a gatebuidling stand of the castle were the greatest emperor of Europe (Charles V, the Habsurg, Holy Roman Emperor and king of Spain) was born and initially raised. Nearby the only remaining city gate, very picturesque, named Rabot. South of the city centre, youhave the lush Citadelpark dotted with museums and a botanical garden. And there is the very picturesque ruined Saint-Bavo Abbey which you can freely visit on friday, saturday and sunday afternoons, but at those same times you can freely visit Hotel d'Hane-Steenhuyse, an amazing rococo mansion, which housed the french king Louis XVIII for a longer time, or accros Museum Arnold Vanderhaegen, with it's magnificent Chinese silk wallpaper and it was also the home nof Nobelprice winner of Literature Maurice Maeterlinck.
As you see, you have only explored a little but magnificent part of the city centre of Ghent.
