  • Ghent, a city and a municipality in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It’s the third largest city in the country after Brussels and Antwerp. It’s known for being a port and university city. Ghent also draws the attention of tourists from all over the world, and that's not surprising, because spending a day or two in this beautiful city is definitely not a punishment.
Almost 1400 years of history are still visible in this beautiful city as of today: a medieval castle in a moat, an imposing cathedral, a belfry and much more! I visited them all!
I stayed at Edgar Guesthouse for 2 nights and it was absolutely perfect.
The location was really top notch!
The apartment is in the heart of Ghent!
Plenty restaurants nearby and the best tourist attractions are around the corner.

i can't find anywhere on google where it states the belfry tower has an elevator-it actually always says it does NOT have one. what gives?

I have stood in it myself on the way up so I can assure you there is an elevator. I do believe you have to walk down the stairs to regulate the crowds. So up by elevator and down by stairs.

UNBELIEVABLY Beautiful! - I have lived in Lisbon, Andalucia / Spain, Mexico City, Istanbul, Montreal, NYC, SF, New Orleans, Philadelphia (where I am now), and have visited Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Great Britain, Germany, Prague, and Singapore - but Ghent? - Not yet! I will see it by the year's end...for sure!
