this movie is one of my favorites because it rapidly goes from cool somewhat realistic tank battles to completely off the reservation levels of craziness
I like the headcanon that they have fitted all these tanks with supercharged modern engines and much more advanced steering systems so they can basically perform tank-fu. The last battle is nothing less than gun-katas performed with multi-ton behemoths

The armor is absolutely not original, they even mention multiple times in the original manga and anime (but not in the dub for some weird reason?) that the armor has been made from a carbon filament structure (paraphrased) that is completely immune to anything they can fire from these tanks as well as shock absorption. It prevents even the giant mortars in the movie from causing serious injuries inside. Though, injuries can still occur so safety is a big deal. The automotive team in the Tiger P ABSOLUTELY tuned the heck out of it, and added all kinds of crazy mods and upgrades that basically turn it into a sports car that explodes itself if pushed too hard. They put freaking NO² in the bloody thing. I think the rules require a focus on maintaining the realistic overall abilities of the vehicles without going absolutely bonkers, but that would require *modern* technology and thus the machines can be pushed harder in many respects.

Usually that just refers to the batteries and radios, but in the case of the Porsche Tiger, the electrical motors on it falls under that and are allowed to be modern components.

Nishizumi said in the 2nd or 3rd episode of the anime that the commander is usually hard to hit (and it's illegal to directly fire upon humans which is kind of hard to enforce) so there's very minimal chance that the commander is actually put in danger the more concerning thing is machine guns, when the gunner usually doesn't have perfect control of where the bullets are landing.

I dont see why people are so down on the physics of this show , ever see a 56 ton bobsled ? I was crewed on a M88 recovery vehicle (tank tow truck basically) in the Army and let me tell you ... a little ice mixed with tracks and this show isnt so unbelievable .
And it's greater that we believe you- when a tank drives around 40 to 50 km/h a little hard turn can make those things drift- if not skid and damage the tracks in some cases

Used in war but did not give out good results due to engine failure ALOT. The king tiger, or tiger 2 was also made by PORCHE, the original turret was a 100 mm frontal curved turret design which was proved unable to protect the crew. So the company who made tiger 1 was tasked to design a turret in replacement of the newly tiger 2s. Therefore in most of the war museums, are newer versions of the tiger 2.
it really happened to matchmaking system when it put you on overtier matches, but it still better than this anime that throw Pz4 tier 4 fight against Centurion tier 8, it more worse when throw Type 87 tier 3 tank vs Maus tank tier 10 or T95 tier 9 tank destroyer, too
Got to say, I liked the old version even if the sound was odd. The timing was enough to enjoy the atmosphere of the battle and nothing was rushed in between scenes. There's so many action cuts, barely any time to know what the hell is happening and seems to hold more music then straight slug matches.

I thought It was cool how the tank had shot the boat attached to the ride which caused it to be swung upwards, only for commander of this very tank, just to so calmly duck as it goes by and hits the tank behind them, as it was intended. Totally bad to the bone.
Her Centurion crew are madlads, they just got a penta kill from the japanese group + duck team. More importantly, she knows how to counter Miho 270 degrees drift. It's different from Darjeeling with her bunker tank.
We would probably have to make the tanks remote operated for a variety of reasons. On the other hand, we can totally make the tanks remote operated, so if the funding is good enough, we can make this happen.
Fictional alloy used to reinforce the armor, though considering how much the tanks get knocked around regardless, you'd expect a few injuries. I have nothing to defend anyone surviving the siege mortar in the film though.
I find it BS that the bear obsessed girl is able to spin the Centurion tank like that. They call her a prodigy, but I think the true prodigy is whoever is driving the Centurion to get it to drift and spin like a bloody martial artist on ice skates. Then again, it's kind of fitting for a show where tank combat is treated like a martial art sport in this world, so I guess I can let that little unfairness slide.
She gained that fame because her playstyle is about as incredibly dangerous as that of the MC, if the MC was under a well funded and incredibly stacked in corrupt backing of that glasses asshoe. Just in that match alone: That Railway Mortar modified to be tracked thing WOULD NEVER be allowed in any Match without some hefty hand greasing, overkill, and even if the tank armor and crew safeties are at plot armor levels, NO ONE IN SANE MIND would allow a 60cm Mortar be used in even senshado. The M26 Pershings used by her team are LATE, POST WW2 versions, which by technicality in the Rules for HS senshado, IS ILLEGAL, HS teams are only allowed up to WW2 tanks. The leader tank is a Centurion, which itself is pretry much crossing the line unless it is a MkI model with the 84~mm Pounder Tank gun and stuck with a First gen two plane stabilizer, which more than would make her gunner's feat in that last part the work of a Godly gunner. I also find oddly shocking that her School has enough funds to buy and maintain that Mortar monster plus a T95 assault tank, which afaik... ONLY A SINGLE UNIT was ever made.

That Railway Mortar modified to be tracked thing WOULD NEVER be allowed in any Match without some hefty hand greasing, overkill, and even if the tank armor and crew safeties are at plot armor levels, NO ONE IN SANE MIND would allow a 60cm Mortar be used in even senshado.
The M26 Pershings used by her team are LATE, POST WW2 versions, which by technicality in the Rules for HS senshado, IS ILLEGAL, HS teams are only allowed up to WW2 tanks.
The leader tank is a Centurion, which itself is pretry much crossing the line unless it is a MkI model with the 84~mm Pounder Tank gun and stuck with a First gen two plane stabilizer, which more than would make her gunner's feat in that last part the work of a Godly gunner.
I also find oddly shocking that her School has enough funds to buy and maintain that Mortar monster plus a T95 assault tank, which afaik... ONLY A SINGLE UNIT was ever made.
