My college roommate used Feel Good Inc. as their alarm to wake up every morning, and I still have such a vivid sense memory of it every time I hear the song’s opening laughter and bars that I can’t help but get wide awake too.

@@zetro_cloud It really is! What’s really interesting is that I hardly ever wake up to sound-based alarms. I usually use a sonic bedshaker alarm, which is intended for the deaf and/or hard of hearing; it goes under your pillow and vibrates. But when I was living with that roommate, my body acclimated to their routine of waking up to Feel Good Inc. and starting to move around our room and it decided that hearing that song means it’s time for me to wake up too. Now it’s the only sound-based alarm that actually works for me!
I remember being 3-4 years old when this song was playing on MTV and I loved the animation. I never heard it until like 10 years later and it just hit me with nastolgia back when this song completely took my attention as a child and I love that even today it holds up so much better than most music groups from that era. Gorrilaz was and still is a music defying juggernaut

People are being "brainwashed" in a sense by songs that sound similar because they make them feel good. Man, Gorillaz is one of the greatest bands of our time. Every genre, working with so many different artists. From Demon Days to Plastic Beach to the new Sound Machine stuff it's all peak. It feels like a music project more so than a band. Pushing and redefining what music can or should be; I love it.
They're a duet. Only 2 people make the music in the gorillaz. They do the instrumentation and vocals themselves. They just get some guests involved every now and again haha. But I do agree with them being one of the best
