    I’m not looking but it’s good to hear reviews by hunters and not salesman.

      I've seen TH-cam videos shooting FX pellet guns at crazy long distance shooting. I wouldn't waste money on a Nexus and just buy the Nightforce NX8 4-32x you get more magnification and starts at 4x perfect for hunting.

    Great review mate seen 260 rips in the UK using one aswel

      Thanks mate. I'll be sticking with my Nightforce but anyone that just sits and shoots without slinging their rifle, this Element is a great option 🍻

    Lucky yours came with the flip ups. Here the UK ones come with a crappy neoprene sock so had to pay for the flip ups and they retail at like £145 (270aud) and they aren't anything to write home about. Thats my only con.

      Ouch! That's definitely a let down.
      For what you're spending they should definitely be coming with the flip up covers hey.

    Nice review mate. Did you buy this scope or did they send it to you for free? It's an extremely expensive scope, probably the most expensive in it's class for only a 5-20x scope.

      @tonygillahan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers mate. Yeah it was a review scope, I didn't get to keep it at the end, just tested it and gave it back. This scope will suit some people, but I personally would never buy one.

      Yeah seems as though Element Optics brand (all 3 lines of their scopes) really doesn't offer any good value for the price they charge especially when compared to other better proven brands available today. What was really surprising is a buddy owned a Nexus and we directly compared to a $550 Chinese Arken EP5 and
      $700 Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 strictly at 5-20x which is specifically the Nexus' zoom range and the cheaper Arken was tied in optical clarity and the Ares BTR was optically better at around the same weight, same elevation travel with both 30mm tubes, better turrets and tracking on the Ares and zero stop felt the same. It's really insane to spend the money on a Nexus which really seems as though you are getting a huge negative value for the money spent compared to what you are getting. If the Nexus sold for $750 or $800 maximum then it might be worth buying specifically due to it only being a 4x erector in a 5-20x magnification scope. The Tract Toric 4-20x50 that you can buy for $1000 - $1100 when they go on sale is a far better scope too with far superior glass and turrets. I had 2 of them then recently upgraded to the 4.5-30x56 ELR which is even better than the 4-20x50 and cost $1500 - $1600 when they go on sale. I also have the Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 that cost $1400 on sale that literally blows away the Nexus as well. The Night force NX8 4-32x at $1800 on sale absolutely smokes the Nexus as well and weighs the same and has a lot more useable magnification and elevation travel that's well worth the it's slightly higher cost.

      @@commonsense5709 that's good insight mate. Always interesting when you can directly compare different scopes in different price ranges and establish a verdict on their value for money. I personally think the Meopta Optika 6 line are one of the best value for money offerings at the moment, at least from what scopes I've been able to look through to date.

      @commonsense5709 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tonygillahan I fully agree 100% Meopta punches well above their price point. A sunshade should really be included since they suffer too much light coming in when set at high magnification causing chromatic aberration. They could have prevented this by making their scopes a little longer so the front glass is more recessed. I think you reviewed their 4.5-27x50 and noticed the purple fringing at 27x. If you had the sunshade it would really help or roll a 5 - 6 inch black paper around the front objective bell and scotch tape it on.

      @@commonsense5709 yeah mate I have that scope on my 223 and you're spot on about the chromatic aberration. In normal use it's not too bad and I don't notice it, but that's a great tip and point. Cheers 🍻
