Well done. I'm topping up a litre every 500-700 kms on my 1.8 tsi CDAA. Oil 5W40 motul xcess. Running an APR K04 3 BAR RACE FILE 28 psi tune and car is almost gunned every single time. Hoping to make the engine last with liqui moly oil saver and no smoke additives. Odometer: 1,39,000 kms.
@@crank3646 the thing is I have seen cdaa engine code engines at 150000kms no consumption but it was mostly driven hard on a regular basis!!!!! Driving hard can help you keep the rings clean!!!!!

The oil injectors under the pistons, are on the same side as are the petrol injectors on top of the pistons. This makes the pistons become cold one one side, and hot on the other, which is what leads to the problem.
@@crank3646 As said, the problem is unequal thermal stresses. There is a company which makes dual oil injectors which replace the original ones, and the problem is solved.
Audi replaced the pistons/rings for free on my 2011 A4 Quattro at 71k miles (115k Km). The new parts are GTI spec and don't use any oil since repair. Repair was performed for free at the Audi dealership in 2015.
My 2010 a4, 64000 miles, missed the cutoff date for the class action settlement piston ring repair/fix, but they were willing to maybe pay a part of the repair after I pay for 2 consumption tests, labor and % of parts..
@CRANK I have a question, the engine is from what year or what engine code is, I have the 1.4 TSI 122cp Engine code CMBA from a Seat Leon 2013 and I have the oil consumtion problem.
Thanyou for the video..Am also using Ea888 cdaa Passat .Still going strong without much issues.Hope it won't get this issues .Can u pls suggest me a good oil for this ? I am currently using 5w40 Addinol
@@buzzo89 Yes, I rebuilt the engine, and everything was working properly until I reached 50,000 kilometers, at which point oil consumption started again. I performed an engine flush, and it helped resolve the issue. Now the engine runs correctly. My conclusion is that doing an engine flush every three oil changes, at least, is advisable. Has nothing to do with that, how will that help, if you have a car that burns one liter oil per 500 km, or even more. This problem has NOTHING to do with oil quality, it's very well known, that only fix is new pistons, so you can fit the new rings.

I have that engine in my A3 from 2014. At 314.000 km still going strong, so hopefully I won't suffer those problems. Great video! 👌
Thanks! I believe only the engines with 4 letter codes are suffering from this. You should have 3

Pavlin, some people are going to ask, on what mileage is the car. Can you enlighten us with this precious information?
Yo don't use my real name bro 😅. Sure, the car is exactly at 200,000 km right now. We did the repair at 196,000 km.

The problem is the bad design of the oil piston rings, they are to thin

How much does something like this cost to change?
At least an arm and a leg
The real issue is the rings carboning up because of excessive oil change intervals. It's a cheap fix with a piston soak.
And the timing chain tension and the oil screens and the balance shaft oil shields . I hate that engine and the rear main seal
Can you give me the list partsnumber to fix this poblems
what is the old design piston ring that have problem vs the new design that won't have the problem
Not thic enought
Здравей ,
Може ли да споделиш колко пари излизат частите ( ориентировъчно ) и ремонта ако не е тайна де :)
Поздрави !!
I can see that you are og in that stuff
I have the same problem with my gti
That screen ends up in your variable timing oil pump . Remove it before you install it
Nic work sir 👍👍
Important info👍
Thanks Mehmed!

so your actually using oversized pistons and boring up your cylinders. normal is 82.51

Remove “TFSI” from the title, and you’ll get closer to a more accurate title
It is pretty much the same design engine
