Cestmir Vana + went to my first speedway race in bakersfield California 1970...later lived in Newport beach close to Costa mesa speedway have followed all of riders though the years, absolutely amazing what Greg Hancock is doing, watched him at Costa mesa when he was just a little kid in Jr speedway. my favorite alltime rider would be Rick woods America's first superstar R.I.P. also was a huge ermolenko fan and of course penhall, Kelly Moran was the most flamboyant rider at Costa mesa and bobby ott wasn't far behind.
Aboslutely agree, we are from Czech republic, but the most of our family members lives in USA. We have been many times in Costa Mesa and we've seen these guys you mentioned. We are still in touch with Greg Hancock, Sam Ermolenko and last week I established contact with Scott Autrey on facebook. We love american riders, my most favourite was Billy Hamill and of course Greg Hancock. I have recorded all Grand Prixs and what Greg is still doing is something unbelievable, I have no words for this. Greg is the best, best, best. I am still very active to see top meetings live, I mean 2-3 GP must see live each year or few top meetings in Poland. Speedway is my life, good bless to US riders. For me, the best Grand Prix ever I have seen was Bydgoszcz 2000, where American duo Hancock&Hamill won that meeting and Billy was second at the end. Those races were unbelievable though and hard. Cestmir Vana + man you certainly know Yur speedway...wish I could have traveled to Europe in my younger days and experience speedway at the top level, Cardiff is on my bucket list "you never know" some of the other riders that have amazing longevity, Boogaloo, mad dog McConnell, flying Mike faria, Charlie venages unbelievable. hopefully some of our young riders will make the comment and go to Europe and kick some butt lol. Gotta go ttyl8r
