I’m organising a stag party later this month and I’ve told my friends to have shorts and jogging pants with zipped pockets. I agree with you that most places are walkable, we are going visit Camp Nou from Poble Nou. The park is still in zone one and with a metro ticket you can change metros and it counts as one journey. Also there is a T familia ticket 8 journeys that can be share with friends, so for instance this would be return journeys for 4 people on one ticket. Totally agree with you that Barcelona is a fantastic city, it’s my favourite of all the cities that I’ve visited.
I have just returned from Barcelona, I spent a month here and these tips are so useful 😍 I totally agree that it's a very walkable city! Also, even though me and my husband were very aware that there are a lot of pickpocketers and we were super careful, we still got robbed in the metro. Keep your phone and wallet near your body, ideally in an inside pocket of your jacket. I suggest visiting tourist attractions during weekdays, not weekends. It's also worth checking free admission days for museums, it's different for every museum (Thursday, Saturday, Sunday). Lastly, I suggest that you do your research on safety in each district of Barcelona before you book your accomodation. Avoid EL Raval at night, some parts of Sant Marti are also not so welcoming. I heard positive opinions on Les Corts and Gracia. I was living in Les Tres Torres for a week and it was very nice and safe, I really enjoyed it here. Then we moved to northern Sant Marti (near Besos Mar) and I must say that I didn't feel comfortable walking my dog at night there.
Hi Joanna, could you share with me, which hotel you stayed in Les Tres Torres Barcelona? I am planning to go there next year. I am also looking safe hotel with my family.

Was in Madrid in Oct. '22 with my brother and a friend of mine. That friend is a great guy and makes a good amount of money and likes to tip very hard in the US. While we knew tipping wasn't too much of a thing in Spain, my friend continued his hard tipping just because its something he likes to do, partly because he used to work in the service industry. Let's just say his tipping was very much welcomed and sometimes we'd get a little bit extra from the bartender/waiter lol Looking at Barcelona this coming October!

Great video! Did you go to Sagrada Familia Nativity tower? If so, how many steps up did you have to go up for the Nativity tower? Did you feel claustrophobic going either up or down?
Hi there! I have been to the Nativity tower and the Passion tower but it was soooo long ago, I'd have to go again to help jog my memory. I didn't feel claustrophobic going up or down but I don't normally have an issue in tight spaces. I don't think that helped you. 😩

Thank you so much for your video! We will be in Barcelona for a night and a whole day before a cruise this May. We have never been to Barcelona, and I have booked a hotel that is in Sant Cugat. It is the Holiday Inn Express Sant Cugat, and it seems to be about a 30 min ride into the city. I booked out there due to ridiculous hotel prices the weekend we are there (a couple of concerts going on so prices are mostly in the triple digits a night). I was hoping you might have some information on the best transportation we should take into the city for sightseeing.
Hi Amy! Aww man! Yes, sometimes the hotel prices are out of control especially from around April/May to end of August. You can take the train from Sant Cugat strait into the city though. Take the FGC train line S1 or S2 I think, and you're right, should take around 30 mins or so. You can buy the tickets at the station. And it should take you directly to Plaza Catalunya. There is a great website I like to use call Rome2Rio which will show you all the transportation options you can choose from. Also, you can explore San Cugat as well. It's not as big as Barcelona, but it's pretty. I had a work colleague from there. 💕

I have plans to visit Barcelona this desember for few days holiday for first time and it's interesting to know there bout exploring....thanks for information 😍
Thank YOU for watching! Ooohhh September is a really good time to go! Hmm, I want to say it might be in the 70s-80s in September. I honestly can't remember. 😫So it might be nice during the day. Maybe not hot enough for lounging at the beach during the day. But the temperature might drop a little at night, but should be nice! Have so much fun in Barcelona!! 💕
Excellent information. I lived in Rota for a few months in the summer and I agree 100% on the daylight situation. It's no wonder they have blackout shutters.
Great video! I'll be visiting Barcelona for the first time later this month. :) This video has me even more excited now. Question for you: Any tips for getting around at night for solo female travelers? That's one thing that is still a question mark in my mind... other than to exercise general safety and vigilance. I'm thinking more about restaurants and getting food (or maybe even some evening tours), than partying, especially since dinner is so late.
Hi Laila!! YAY!! So exciting! For getting around at night as a solo female traveler, my suggestion is that if you're walking at night, stick to main streets where you see lots of people and lights. It should be okay because people are out during dinner and night time. The Spanish love being out! I don't know if you're an introvert or extrovert or open to meeting ppl, but if you are, I almost guarantee that you will meet a couple people along the way. Have so much fun!! Please let me know how it goes!! 💕
Thanks very Informative!! We are 2 adults and 2 kids (9yrs and 13 yrs). We love the scenic options more than the histoical monuments (Only the most popular ones). Good beaches, lovely markets spectacualr views and experiences is something we are always looking for. We are flying in Barcelona on 21st May and are there for 10 nights and flying back from Madrid. Your suggestions would mean a lot.. Thanks Rajat
Hi Rajat! Have so much fun in Barcelona! Your kiddos will love it too! I'll be making a few videos soon about the best things to do in Barcelona, especially for scenic views and experiences so look out for that. For the time being, check out my blog (linked in description). I have a few posts there. 💕
My parents are older have very little travel experience, my dad has trouble walking and uses an electric wheelchair for slightly long distances (anything over 15min+ walk) they are travelling with my younger cousin and her husband. All speak Spanish. The cousins want to stay in Gothic Quarter and I'm concerned about the area thinking Lexiample may be best for the older folks. Can they take a taxi in to the Gothic Quarter daily? I'd love your thoughts.
Yes! You can take a a taxi to the Gothic Quarter, just depends on which part. But keep mind the streets are more narrow in that area. Gothic Quarter is beautiful and there is so much to do and see there. I also love Eixample and think it’s a good central location, wide sidewalks, low crime, and very clean. I hope this helps! 💕
Help it my first time in Barcelona going to spend 3 days there and also thinking of also visit Madrid and then jumping on the cruise. My question is I’m a young 65, what should I pack for 11 days 😊
Hi there! I'll be making a separate packing video for Barcelona so look out for that! Make sure to bring good walking shoes because you'll most likely be walking a lot! 💕
About tipping: usually we do tip, but just the change, so a few cents and if you're pleased with the service maybe 1 to 2 euros, but no more, unless it is a bigger party. So, don't expect the service to be as attentive as in the US because they don't relay on tips for a living. Some people know some English, but it is British, so miscommunication may happen if you're American, also if you are native Spanish Latino speaker be prepared for miscommunication as well... Big thanks for the video you put together, good insides, and I love how much enthusiasm you put on it. Tax is already included in any price you see, except some fancy restaurants, if that's the case in the menu is going to be stated that tax not included, but it is rare.
Hii, I'm staying in Barcelona in February and March but I'm not sure what to pack for clothing, I cannot tell if it's cold or not, what would you recommend? Also thank you for the video, it was so helpful!!
Hi Ecesu! From what I can remember, it’s still a little chilly and often rainy during February and March. I would pack a light coat/jacket for sure. February is def one of the cooler months there. Maybe some light long sleeve blouses too with jeans. Google to find the exact temperatures but that’s what I can remember. My birthday is at the end of March, so I always remember it still being a little chilly around then and having to wear a jacket. I hope this helps! 💕
Such a great job! I can’t wait to go! Thanks for being informative and energetic! Do you have any recommendations for the outlet converters? I have to work (from my laptop) while I’m there and want to make sure I have the best plug possible where I can also charge my phone. Also, wondering if I can work from cafés or any beach-view restaurants during the afternoons (2pm or later Barcelona time). Thank you!
Hi Alyssa! Yes, there are a lot of cafes that you can work from during the day. I have a list of great coffee shops on my blog. I'm not too sure about the beach view though as I think a lot of the beach restaurants may not have wifi for working but you can always walk down there and see if they'll let you chill for a bit. As far as the converters, the voltage is 230 and F sockets. I like to use the easy 2 prong adapters for my phone because they're so easy and light. For my laptop, I like to use the bigger universal ones. I may have a link in the description box. If not, send me a message and I'll send you a pic or link of what I use. Also thinking of making a separate video for packing for Barcelona so stay tuned for that. Have a great time! It's a gem of a city! 💕
Hi Alyssa! You sent me a message on IG right? I feel like I remember seeing it and I was in the middle of something and said "I'm going to come back to this so I can give a proper response." But then I went back and didn't see it. But maybe I'm making this all up? I'm so sorry!! The past couple of months have been so busy for me and I've had a lot on my plate. Do you still need help? Did you get the right plug? I'm so sorry I took so long. 😩
What’s the best time to visit with decent weather? Do we need to exchange money prior to visiting? Food dish recommendations? Best places to stay? Is USD dollars acceptable? Do they take debit cards? Credit cards?
Thank you for the video! I am a person in wheelchair who traveling to Barcelona for the first time! How accessible is the public transportation? Which one is more accessible for me to go from the airport to the city centre? Please advise
Hi Ali!! I'm so sorry for my late response. Thank you so much for your comment. I have been thinking a lot about this and hoping to address this and provide some information about wheelchair accessibility around the city. More on that to come. For now, I think, although I'm not positive. But I believe that airports within the EU are required to provide assistance and meeting points for assistance. Send me an email (my email address is in the description box) and I can send you more information about it. Hopefully I'm not too late. 💕
@@KRodCollective that's would be very helpful! I am looking forward to learning more about how accessible the city is and to more resources. Thank you for your time ❤️

Thank you for your great sum up! But I have a question about the public transportation. Can I buy like a Ticket for a whole month or severel weeks? Cause I need to take the bus and metro every day when I get there.
Yes you can!! And I would suggest that! Especially if you are going to be taking the public transportation a lot. There is a monthly pass you can get. It will most likely pay for itself in a few swipes. You can use it on the metro and the bus. Just not the bus or metro to the airport.
@@xxyy4479 You can buy them at the kiosk. Once you get to any metro station, there will be a digital kiosk where you can buy metro tickets. You can pick the option for the unlimited monthly one. 💕
Muchas gracias poe el video! Ha sido de mucha ayuda para mi! En octubre próximo vamos a tomar un crucero en Barcelona y nos quedaremos algunos días antes. Bendiciones!
I always try to exchange with my bank ahead of time. A couple weeks before my trip. This has always been the best rate that I’ve found for me personally. The airport is one of the worst, however, if you’re in a rush, it’s a good option.
Hi! I am going in Barcelona in 3 Weeks. Do you recommend the pass Card for métro (31€ for 4 days) or buying ticket ? I am not going to leave the city and my hostels is near the sagrada Familia!

Thank you for your videos! You are so smart and very beautiful 💜💜💜👌🏾
Aww thank you!! Thank you for watching! Safe travels! 💕
Hey Laila! I'm also going to be in Barcelona as solo female traveler next month and I'm interested in your experience :)
Avoid at ALL COST La Rambla at night, specially if you travel solo. 2 stanbings last weekend there
Super informative! aiming to try to do my first solo trip in may.
Hi Leah!! Yay!! 🎉I hope it’s a good one! Thank you for watching! 💕
How was your trip 😊?
Regarding tips - I have it on good authority that waitstaff is paid a living wage so that tips are gravy
Thank you! 💕
At least 10 yrs ago it was pretty safe as I remember walking all over Barcelona sometimes waste and high
It’s still safe, just a lot of pickpockets.
Thanks 😊 nice to see you again 💕👍🏼
Thank you Mireya! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for the advice on Girona, I didn't known I needed to visit the city until you mentioned it and I looked it up!
Hi!!! Yes!! it's so beautiful! Please enjoy it!! 💕
GIRONA is a fantastic city, a hiden gem, not far from Barcelona and has it's own historic identity, loved the place.
@@seanriley6911yes! It is a gem!!

Thanks for the info! Would you have any ideas how I can store my bike for 1 week in Barcelona?
maybe, try asking one of the hostels.....they are usually flexible and open to travellers' needs :)
Oooohhh that’s a good question. Maybe try a luggage/short term storage place? Are you staying at a hotel? I wonder if they can store it for you? 🤔
Great informative video KRod - cheers.
Thank you!! 💕
you're welcome @@KRodCollective

Thanks for watching Angela!
MUCHAS GRACIAS!! These are such true and great tips! Thank you so much for sharing. Un abrazo! 💕
Thank you for your Tipps. We made it👍 It was amazing

@@KRodCollective this absolutely helps! Thank u sm 💖💖

Wonderful video ! I can not wait to visit !
Thank you for watching! Have a great time in Barcelona!
@@KRodCollective thank you so much!
@@alysssawrites No problem! You're gonna have such a great time! Love this for you! Just be careful with your stuff!💕
@KRodCollective
Check out my website (linked in the description) lots of Barcelona info there. I will make a separate video to address these questions. 💕

Thank you for your time ❤️
I am going to Barcelona for four days. Would you recommend to stay in Eixample or gothic quarter? 🇪🇸 ❤
Hi!! Eixample! Just my opinion though. 💕
Hi, I stayed in the gothic quarter but I visited Eixample amongst other places and I really preferred Eixample out of all 🇪🇸😊
And yeah, days are longer in Spain, specially in Summer :)
Summer is the besssstttt!!! 😂
this video was awesome! thank you for this! also i know we dont know each other but if you are still there i would love to meet up! will be there 2nd weekend of july!
Thank you for watching Kady! So glad it was helpful. Oh you are too sweet! I would love to meet up, but I don’t live there anymore. 😩Have fun though! Safe travels. 💕
@@KRodCollective thank you so much for your reply! I couldn't find it nowhere. Where can I buy it or do I have to search?
@@xxyy4479 You can buy them at the kiosk. Once you get to any metro station, there will be a digital kiosk where you can buy metro tickets. You can pick the option for the unlimited monthly one. 💕
@@KRodCollective thank you sooooooo much! ♡

where do you go to get the best exchange rate in barcelona?
I always try to exchange with my bank ahead of time. A couple weeks before my trip. This has always been the best rate that I’ve found for me personally. The airport is one of the worst, however, if you’re in a rush, it’s a good option.
I grew up in Brooklyn, so after I visit Barcelona, I'll make a video about pick-pocket fingers I broke on my trip.
Wooooowwww!! We need a story time! 💕
Where to stay in barcelona? If we are visiting the place for 3 nights
I suggest staying in Eixample. It’s central and safe. Have a good trip! 💕
Hi! I am going in Barcelona in 3 Weeks. Do you recommend the pass Card for métro (31€ for 4 days) or buying ticket ? I am not going to leave the city and my hostels is near the sagrada Familia!
Hi!! I'm so sorry for the late response. I hope you had an amazing time in Barcelona! 💕
