This Massive Belgian Appetizer Platter Challenge in Mons Is Meant to Feed 8 Hungry People!!

- American professional eater Randy Santel versus Citizen Fox's 8-Person Belgian Appetizer Sharing Platter Challenge hosted by Citizen Fox in Mons, Belgium!! My girlfriend @KatinaEatsKilos and I spent 10 days vacationing with my family around Paris and Normandy, France, followed by Amsterdam, Netherlands. Then we headed to Brussels, Belgium to begin attempting Belgian food challenges around Belgium. For big Belgian restaurant food eating challenge #4, we took the train down to Mons, Belgium so that I could attempt the massive 8-Person Belgian Appetizer Platter Challenge hosted by Citizen Fox Mons, which was originally designed to feed 8 hungry people while waiting for their entrees. I had just 45 minutes to feast on a giant platter of Belgian snacks and fried appetizers. There were fried hand-dipped chicken tenders, juicy chicken wings covered with a homemade BBQ sauce, lots of fried cheese sticks and balls, and there was a pile of Belgian loaded nachos in the middle. The appetizer platter also featured lots of hand-dipped fried onion rings and on top was a baguette of buttered cheesy garlic bread!! The beer drank during the video was just optional. Lots of people have tried over the years to finish it solo by themselves, but there had only been 2 previous winners. I was trying to become just the 3rd champion to finish everything within the 45 minute time limit so I could win my €48 Belgian meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Citizen Fox's Wall of Fame!! BIG thanks to everyone with Citizen Fox in Mons, Belgium for the wonderful food, drinks, beers, and hospitality!! Special thanks also to all our amazing friends who came up that Monday afternoon to watch and meet us!! Amazing. I lived in Belgium thanks to the USArmy. Loved Mons and Brussels. Good food was there for year. Used to go to Montana Mikes in Brussels. Good stuff

"there are some military bases near by" I was stationed there for 2 years, You have SHAPE and Chev and Dom. Also you have NATO HQ just up the road. Lots of military in that area.

Slight correction to your initial info blurb.
Flemish is derived from Dutch and is between 90-95% understandable by either side.
This due to the split being fairly "recent" by comparison, this in contrast to say Boers/South African which is 40-50% at best.
But it is officially recognized as a separate language.
It's no different from there being multiple forms of English technically. British RP is not identical to American, Canadian or Australian English.
And while modern communication methods are slowing/negating the language drift, it's still noticeable enough.
It's the same way that Mexican Spanish and Spanish Spanish aren't 1 to 1.
Although afaik, the Mexicans have never petitioned to have their language recognized as a derivative.
Same goes for the South and Middle American countries and Portuguese/Spanish.

I am right there with you on Tabasco. I cannot stand the flavor of it, their green tabasco is better but I go with Franks all the time. It is the classic Buffalo Wing recipe.

This reminds my of that ULTIMATE 50s CHALLENGE you did back in Chicago. There you had 50 minutes to finish though. Good job Randy. This victory was WELL EARNED! If I were there, I would have said: "I will buy your T Shirt if they are too cheap to give you one!"

There’s so many awesome Belgian beers that I’d have to go local / regional with either anything Chimay, Rochefort 10, 8 or 6, St. Bernardus Abt 12, Orval TA, Westmalle TA, Karmeliet Tripel, Gulden Drak Imp. Stout, Piraat, Duvel, etc. JS
