0:59 I’m assuming that’s my recording of #12 and her broken whistle from the four days of steam in dixie dvd from my second channel?...not that it’s a problem or anything I’m just guessing
@@Nightgale-2021 this was the Baldwin she has now, it suffered some damage after being banged by the top of one of the shed doors. They fixed it in the late 1990s
@@T128Productions Well, remember the fact that we aren't exactly sure what whistle this is, but when i listened to it for the 2nd time, I KNEW it had to be a canadian 5 chime whistle
@@T128Productions This is due to the way it sounds, while a broken 3 chime would sound a little different than the whistle in the footage from 1993, 1994, & 1997 (or 1998).
@@T128Productions So in that case, take a closer listen to the whistle. And again, most broken 5 chime whistles sound like the one in this video footage.
@@Train_Tok_Manactually it’s a 5 inch Baldwin. Not a Crosby. But both are so similar it honestly could almost be considered the same if it weren’t for different chamber lengths
Thanks for sharing! Honestly, #12's whistle didn't sound THAT bad in the 90's though she definitely sounds LEAGUES better these days.
0:28 - 0:39 the whistle sounds somewhat like a gtw 6 chime in amtrakguy365's history of train whistles video from a while ago
I’m pretty sure he got the audio from here: th-cam.com/video/O3Dg6auqrgA/w-d-xo.html
You can hear the 6 chime after the 3 chime in that video.
Remember how Bachmann used the sound of this whistle on their large scale Tweetsie 12
The little diesel chasing 12 is funny 😂
It's a rail speeder. Most tourist railroads do the same thing.
It's a fire prevention thing and they usually run behind the train during dry seasons.

That is correct.
I think the whistle sounds nice
It may be damaged, but my god it sounds beautiful
its broken, but i like it!
Did 12 ever have a different whistle
Nope. Same one bent at an awkward angle at the time
It did have a 5” Crosby 3 chime whistle back in 2021
is anyone comfortable with coach 5 at the back? (and it's colour)
Doesn't sound bad I guess though I really prefer today's whistle
It sounds like Roy’s old sounding Whislte

@@mattdotsonrailfanproductio266 oh I see
When was it fixed?
Is this the whistle she has now
AM AM yep, it is, it was just damaged because the whistle had been bent due to it hitting the roof of the shop.
It’s not broken it’s the guy camera audio
Wrong! The whistle actually was bent. The audio is fine, but the whistle wasn’t at the time.

It sounds like a nuclear siren
That's not a broken whistle. That's a Grand Trunk Northern 5 or 6 chime Whistle
it is broken causing it to sound like the gtn 5 or 6 chime
My dude, it’s a Crosby 3 Chime with a dent in it, causing it to sound like that.
Look up the facts instead of the fiction!
