You know what whistle sounded really good as the ghost train whistle the lunkenheimer that Jesse hoyle owns they never officially used it for ghost train but during cool summer nights they did and he blew it like ghost train!
Well it sounded good there but started developing a squeal later in the day. So they put a washer in between the bell and the bowl. It made it sound more natural
@@mattdotsonrailfanproductio266 Me too I don’t think it’s worn out I’ve asked the engineers before and they said it isn’t I just wish they’d pull the whistle cord all the way like in Steven saines newest video, also if they’d tune it right! Also I wish Jesse Hoyle still worked there, his Crosby was also really good! They could have used his lunk once or twice for ghost train!
That White Pass 5 chime was by far the best and most shrill whistle I’ve ever heard. And sounds amazing with #12s whistle. Too bad Tweetsie doesn’t own it.
@@Christopherbellfan203 the original southern Crosby is still in use as of this year. It’s just been tuned differently and rebuilt so lost its signature sound. Still sounds good though. I need to update this video
It’s the same style whistle but not the exact same whistle. Dollywoods was found by a collector in Florida, who works at Dollywood. He traded it to Dollywood in the 1990s for the rebel railroad southern… jesses southern Crosby was presumably off a PS4 and there are bolts in the languid plate so it could withstand higher pressure.
@@mattdotsonrailfanproductio266 I wonder if I could get those Southern Railway New Style Crosbys but I just can’t find one and they are a pretty penny to have too.
@@mattdotsonrailfanproductio266 actually the Ps4 pacifics never had Crosby 3 chimes. They had flat-top long bell 3 chimes built specifically for the Ps4s. The Crosby 3 chimes likely would have been fitted to K and Ks-1 consolidation locomotives.
Tweetsie is not the owner of it. It’s in the hands of a private collector who actually lives in my hometown. It’ll probably come back in 2028 for 190s 85th birthday
Why is this video so popular? Lol
The signature Crosby is back on but they REALLY need to tune it to sound like the sound clip at the beginning of the video.
Well that is very good news
Amazing video! I saw it and it was great!!
I like the Yukon and white pass 5 chime the best in this video!
2:50 Whoever made that picture, 10/10 beautifulness!

@@IlanTheSouthwesternRailfan I’ve never heard it in a video but I heard it in person.
1:37 that 3 chime doesn’t sound untuned it sounds beautiful it sounds like dollywood 70

I want the Original Southern Railway New Style Crosby 3 Chime back on 190.
It was one of the best Crosby’s ever in my opinion, my number 1 favorite Crosby will always be Tim’s old 1800s style Crosby though.
I’m fine with it off. If you’ve watched ghost train 2019 it was that wore out.
@@stevensainerailfanproductions Same.
Same thing, I want the Original Southern Railway New Crosby 3 chime back on 190 1960s-2018

i like the christmas one best
Has 190 had the same crosby 3 chime through all these years? Thats amazing!
I like 2008 and 9 sounds classy and 2007 and 6 w whistles
BTW liking 2007 and 2007
Lil more
do the many whistles of dollywood 192
2:07 that looks like Hercules whistle from tugs
That whistle reminds me of Dollywood Express either number 192 or number 70
At the beginning That was the Crosby on opening day this year if you can believe it I wish it would still sound like that.
That poor thing is so worn out. It truly sucks. I miss how her old Crosby USE to sound, in the 1980s and 90s

Tim Smith’s Crosby 3 chime sounds very identical to the one that 630 wore in 2017!
I think 0:01 through 0:09 is the coolest sounding whistle
Me too.
me favorite definitive is the Original Southren Railway New Style whistle, listen again like in the good days of the 2010-2016

I like the southern railway New style Crosby whistle!
At 0:40, it sounds like Canadian National #3254’s old whistle.
That tuned Crosby was tuned so perfectly you could hear the vibrations from the waves syncing up
Same here dude
in 2:29, tweetsie 190's whistle is in ''EARRAPE''.
sounds like a dollywood express owned whistle
Great !
I like the 2018 tuned one
I Thought The Tweetsie Railroad Was Temporarily Closed Until Further Notice
I really miss the old Crosby

Jesse Hoyles Crosby (tuned) sounds like a lunkenheimer 6 inch 3 chime.
