It never stops dude, you can keep getting better at skating for the rest of your life. I'm 49 and have the benefit of a relatively low skill level, but I'm a better skater than I've ever been and still have 4 or 5 stairs worth of knees and ankles left 👍🏽

Or some transition tricks, like I can't figure out how to cruise a back smith grind on a qp, my front wheels always drag. Blunt to fakie is another challenging one to do proper. I'm 31 and relate to the sentiment about skating better than ever in spite of not skating stairs or handrails anymore. I think transition is a good thing to work on in this stage of skatelife.
For bs smiths on qp's: Front heel, back toe. Front heel levels it out and keeps the board flat in smith position, keep your weight behind your back foot and push the back toe INTO the coping. This is what i think about when i do them maybe it helps!!

Mainly because it's not healthy and also because it's just too ruff and not fun to me. I need at least a bank or Quarterpipe to land in. But energy wise and the power and pop i gained during the last 6 years it got pretty crazy.

Watched a dude go to battle with a nollie hardflip over that ball a Harbor City park recently. He was popping super high. Once he finally stuck it he whipped around and switch hardflipped the five stair first try. 😯
You just gotta cover the whole nose with your front foot. Point the toes of your back foot right in the middle of the deck just in front of the rear bolts. Closed shoulders. You'll get them every time, ghost pop or not.
In terms of neuroplasticity and general physical ability, there's nothing stopping you from being a lifelong learner in any endeavour (how the fuck do u write that word). there's always new avenues to explore. the reason people stop learning isn't because you're somehow physically incapable of it, but rather ideas permeating in the culture about when u reach x age u will stop improving in various areas. This is also true in other sports, i.e. weightlifting, running etc. people think when u reach 30+ everything just starts to deteriorate. it's an idea that are noceboing people and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. according to many meta-analyses on the subject matter, muscular strength, cognitive abilities etc. don't start declining before well into your 50s IF u stay physically active throughout life. in short: don't stop hopping fences.
