Somehow I felt older when I was 26 than I do now at 38. I think you get a second wind towards midlife, and you also let go of a lot of expectations and learn to laugh at yourself more. I still learn new shit to this day and I appreciate every moment I’m able to ride my skateboard. Congrats on the nollie hard, dude, that shit was buttery.
12:00 the whistle for that kids back heel is how u know gifted a real one down for the cause. idk if he knows that kid or not or if that kid even knows who gifted is. It never stops dude, you can keep getting better at skating for the rest of your life. I'm 49 and have the benefit of a relatively low skill level, but I'm a better skater than I've ever been and still have 4 or 5 stairs worth of knees and ankles left 👍🏽
@@fullyfb3847 LOL, fair enough, but i might just get my first switch tre out of a bank in my sixties. I'm gonna get old and die for sure, but you can do a lot in a slowly decaying body ;)
I'm 48, started skating in 1985, I considered myself a pretty good skater in 1989 but stopped progressing around that rocket kick flip era... 😂 as I got back to "trying" last couple years and last week I finally figured out proper flick and have landed more kick flips than I ever did in 1989. Fakie flips too! No big deal for all you post 90s kids but for me I might as well be landing McTwists. I am more stoked and excited about skating than ever. Stay young at heart and you will have an advantage because you'll refuse to die!
lmaooooo love the kodak lyric breakdown. I always thought that the phrase was "gnat-gnat" like a small fly shorty buzz around dudes, but maybe I'm mistaken.🤣
ive watched every video of yours and this one was my favorite. your analyses on jah and the industry bs is gold. but watching you embrace progression despite getting older is gnarly. your nollie hardflips looked all sick, my fav was the first on the euro and the last one. a next trick could be a fs 180 nosegrind bs 180 back to regs or a frontside flip nosegrind
I'd like to see you learn backside 360s on bank, flat and launch. It's one that I learned one day and then lost again. Or some transition tricks, like I can't figure out how to cruise a back smith grind on a qp, my front wheels always drag. Blunt to fakie is another challenging one to do proper. I'm 31 and relate to the sentiment about skating better than ever in spite of not skating stairs or handrails anymore. I think transition is a good thing to work on in this stage of skatelife.
For bs smiths on qp's: Front heel, back toe. Front heel levels it out and keeps the board flat in smith position, keep your weight behind your back foot and push the back toe INTO the coping. This is what i think about when i do them maybe it helps!!
I just had my foot crushed at work and had to get it cut off today so I guess I'm never gonna be able to skate again. but still hyped to see you upload. fml.
Dude Im 46 and still skate and this is hilarious. Watch all your othr stuff. You running the game young man. 💯 it's funny I could always do nollie hardflips but could never do regular or switch hard flips. Skateboarding is a weird thing. Lol
I like this video. I also understand it: I got asked to do a varial heelflip and tried for twenty minutes and didn't get it yet. But I will soon. And it will feel great.
I'm 41 and at the peak of my performance since almost 30 years of skating. I'm not jumping down sets anymore, though. Mainly because it's not healthy and also because it's just too ruff and not fun to me. I need at least a bank or Quarterpipe to land in. But energy wise and the power and pop i gained during the last 6 years it got pretty crazy.
PROD does also. That is my favorite trick. Check out my Short Clip busting a Nollie Hardflip NorthStar on my 10.75 Zip Zogger over ball. 45 years old and going strong. Age is only a # until you fall , lol.
@@213SAPPER prod has a mean one! Has them into slides and whatnot too. Sick that you got them, nollie or switch hardflip is my dream flatground trick, used to have them pretty good regs and fakie but sw is just another ball park
You just gotta cover the whole nose with your front foot. Point the toes of your back foot right in the middle of the deck just in front of the rear bolts. Closed shoulders. You'll get them every time, ghost pop or not.
Watched a dude go to battle with a nollie hardflip over that ball a Harbor City park recently. He was popping super high. Once he finally stuck it he whipped around and switch hardflipped the five stair first try. 😯
Yes I did my 30 mins of cardio. Took my dextrose shake. The lift was good. Chest, Tricep and Side Delts. 2 litres of chocolate milk consumed. Day was good

Local Joe: Nakel SECRET HACK to Nollie Hardflips!
My brain sees hardflips as “frontside flips but just stop yourself from rotating after the board is already on its way”
missed opportunity to collab with local joe
"Oh thats on me, haha" damn I'm using that if someone ever mistakes me for someone else lol
I always thought as hrdflips as frontside varial flips and that helped me mentally work it out
So a semi flip?
I’m (pretty) sure that that’s what the trick was originally described as, way back before the term hardflip was coined
so like an inward kickflip?
