Some of those tries only failed cause the ledge was too low, looking at Gustavo he usually has a decent drop off to get the flip around. Not saying it's easier on a street league ledge but it does for sure give the board more room to get the flip around

On the first point about philosophizing about skateboarding in order to improve, I think there is a way to do it and a way to not do it. If you are trying to learn a trick and you are outside skating and you observe what is going wrong and you come up with a "hypothesis" on how to solve it and you try it out, I think that that will help you improve. If you are on your desk and just watching trick tips online, and you don't implement those trick tips right away, it doesn't help too much.
