Sorry to see this series isn’t getting the views that some of the more popular shows do, but it’s definitely one of my favorites and I hope you guys finish it.
Since seahorse are seen as dragon illegimate child, I can see why Hatori feels so bad about it. It's an interesting theme, not maching up with people expectations of you, especially in the Soma family. It's also a nice way to introduce the notion of "something is wrong with this curse if some don't match with their original animals". I won't say anything else for now but it has a canon explanation in the show, so you can start thinking about it :) Also, we already know that Hatori erased Yuki's friend memories when he was younger. But it's implied something similar happed to Momii. A friend, a lover... Who do you think migt have been erased from Momiji's mind ? I love that Hatori doesn't feel jealous or salty that Kana is getting better. That person makes her feel good, that's the only thing he cares about. And the spring after snow analogy is a nice way to make us hope that he'll find someone else to move on from Kana. Also, Akito's speech about the curse can refer to zodiac people not transformng with one another.
Hatori is one of the best characters in the show and hopefully as the show progresses hell be one or your favorite character hes so well written(so many amazing characters its amazing).
Hatori's story as well as another zodiac's story made me bawl when I watched the original 2001 anime. I don't know if it's because I was younger or if the 2001 anime was more effective in drawing out the emotions in me. Still, the Sohma's have been through a lot and Tohru is the therapy they need 😅

No he just erased the memories of the relationship they had lol meaning she always had a crush on him also I don’t get why you guys think tohru had hers erased especially knowing only one person can do it now.

Till this day, after watching Fruits Basket, I firmly believe that the conclusion to Hatori's love story can be a good standalone shojo series. 😭😭😭
