    Oooh The Aeneid! Havent read the Dryden translation so very interested to hear what it's like 😊 Ooh I'm going to see Rigoletto next month, that little book sounds so fab!

      @@redheadreading Dryden was my favorite for Plutarch last year and he has disappointed this time either! In poem form with a rhyme scheme and lovely meter. Knowing the story already might help with my appreciation of it, but it feels easy to understand and I couldn’t be enjoying it more!
      Ooooo! I can’t wait to hear about your time with Rigoletto in performance! I absolutely love it 🥰

      @@PageTurnersWithKatja I found this play adapted from Pratchett’s book! I can never find Pratchett second hand so this caught my attention. It isn’t the same thing, but I thought it’d be fun to read since Pratchett meant it as a reimagined MacBeth❣️

    I would like to read The Aeneid someday! You have such a great selection of ideas for September that work for the reading challenges. I loved Jenny’s channel and still miss her on BookTube so much 😢.
    I’m also hoping to get A Midsummer Night’s Dream this month and thanks for the heads up that there’s a version written in prose! Hope your reading has been great so far ❤

    What a great list of books! I really enjoyed As You Like It. I think it’s a very underrated Shakespeare!

      I have seen the play of As You Like It, but have never read it! I'm really excited about it!

    As always, such an intriguing bunch of reading choices, and no joke there are just so many events I need to retire to keep up as much as I'd like. Yay for Pratchett! Otherwordly sounds very potentially intereresting, I'll look forward to what you think, then see if I want to seek it out.

      ​@@novelideeaI think I'm going to try to read this one. It seems a bit hard to find from my searching. You can't know ALL the Russian books. Lol. I'll ask Igor about it. GR says it's read I'm school so not sure if that means Uni since I see that Northwestern reprinted a version or school in Russia like in the US there are certain books which lots of kids have to read.

    Sounds like you have your month full! I don’t think I have committed to anything for September yet, other than continuing the Mistalong with Beautiful Minutiae and my two year long challenges. I could be wrong! 😂

      Second Era (Wax and Wayne) is not my fave, so I decided to not do the rereads of those.

      I have never read "More of a Kind" but I adore "All of a Kind"! I hope to hear great things!
      I liked Epic of Gilgamesh when I read it it Classical Literature class long ago, we'll see if my tastes have changed. I have been wanting to read Peterkin forever also, it may be one of the first I dive into.

      ​@@novelideeaI hear ya on P&V. I read C&P in that translation the first time. This time I'm using Oliver Ready which I read is a really good translation. I'll read a different translation when I read it again.

      @@novelideea yes, I do remember liking it. It may even have been a Solzhenitsyn book... but yeah, I haven't experienced anyone outside of P&V that strips the emotion so much.

    I'm going to read the Red Sept group read and C&P. I'm not reading any Communist type books although i do have the first 2 Gulag Archipelago in one bind up. I thought it was just going to be "read Russian " so i planned by what i own. I have a Russian fantasy/folktale, some Tolstoy short ones so they will count for shorty Sept, a Hardy that's short and Dune Messiah will be for Scifi Sept then I'll have i see how my mood strikes.

      I don't know if it's an official readathon but it used to be. I'm just doing my own thing and reading Dune Messiah then. Lol

      @@novelideea there is a guy in Sarah Reads discord who recommended it. I can't remember what his day job is (something to do with books or teaching...) but he's the Russian jeopardy champion. 🎉
