Pitch clock is great! An MLB guy said "why does each pitch need to be a one minute event"? I'm 63, born a baseball fan, played into college. No downside.

These two are GREAT together. So refreshing to see Evan talk sports without Carton’s antics.
Evan with everyone but Carton is a good mix. Him with Joe is the best, but he’s good with CP, with Licata…just not Carton and we’re good lol

Two things.... 1. Carton is ratings gold, so he's not moving anytime soon. 2. I actually like Craig and think he's great as a radio personality, but he's best suited for mornings, when that kind of energy and "shock jockery" is what's needed. He needs a jock who can join in on the laughs(boomer), not a sports nut like Evan, who's best suited with another sports nut(beningo preferably)
People are so used to Manfred fucking up that they can’t tell a good thing when they see it.
The shift was killing baseball i am so happy they are rid of it - I BET they juice the call too this season - make the games shorter and score more runs - more offense --

Carton is unlistenable imo. These two have great chemistry and actually talk about sports. I understand Carton is a ratings monster but can’t understand why. People love him apparently for reasons I cannot fathom. Really wish WFAN would get back to this kind of sports talk.
Couldn’t agree more. I don’t get his appeal and find him unlistenable. Evan is also a bad fit for him as a sports nerd.
Next they need to get an automatic strike zone where they do not need umpires to call
balls and strikes, that would be fantastic!!

Getting rid of the shift is awesome. The new bases, not so much.

@@romanc.5074 The shift has been wildly overused and is now history. I agree with you the players should hit it the other way but that's not happening.
There’s still a lot of shit that slows the game down like the absurdity around having so many relief pitchers that need to cycle through a game and chew up the time and kills the mood like roadkill but at least being able to fix something very controllable compared to going after relief pitching is a non brainer. It’s a golden layup I’m shocked Manfred and co didn’t eat dirt on.
Relief pitchers usually come into the game at the start of the inning so they do not slow the game down
at all.
There’s the 3-batter rule: any reliever that enters a game must either 1) face a minimum of 3 batters; or 2) get the last out of an inning.
It’s been in effect for a couple of seasons already.
As a purist, I thought I would hate the pitch clock. I was wrong. It's the best thing to happen to baseball in my lifetime.
I'm so used to hitting FF between every pitch that I was missing pitches! Nice to not have to pause the game and get behind, so I can FF between swings. Even commercial breaks were shorter... crazy.
Please make this show permanent
Of course these two, who never played the sport at an advanced level, like the pitch clock. The PC is a disaster.
Because this new rule isn’t about players. It’s about viewing experience for fans. I’m sure football and basketball players will say they don’t like the game clock or the shot clock too much either but it moves the game along.
Imo they should have made it 30 seconds so pitchers have more time to cycle through signs with their catchers, but we’ll see how it plays out in regular season games.
It was a beautiful game. It isn’t now and won’t be again. It’s only about money and nothing else matters.

dude no sense talking about edwin diaz working fast
obviously some pitchers have ALWAYS worked fast and some slow...some hitters same way ...bob gibson was known to work really fast for example
does NOT mean thats is good for every guy ...obvious different people will have different tendencies but overall the clock will be advantage pitchers
if a hitter succeed 30% (low percentage already) of the time hes considered an excellent hitter ...with less time to think and guess or to recall what this pitcher threw the last time against him in this same situation the hitters will be even more disadvantaged
overall it will harm the game

Old folks need to wake up and realize baseball needs to catch up to modern times. I love the new rules. There is a reason no kid wears a baseball jersey anymore
I don't like the clock their is an art of a pitcher vs batter this is rushing the mind game between the 2

Yeah I think it's dumb. And any real baseball fan should think the same. The slower pace is what makes baseball great. Sitting around, enjoying the game with friends/family.
Fucking sports these days are nothing but catered to simple minded casual fans. It's all about fast pace and high scores.
Yeah, those 4 hour games are great, ( sarcasm ).
Pitch clock is okay.. but make it 25/20 at least during the first year. Give players time to adjust. Pun intended.

I can easily argue against the pitch clock. I love the sport of baseball not being timed and rushed along like so many other sports. Pitch clock DOES take away from what makes baseball different. Every argument for the clock is that people want baseball to be like every other sport. They want sameness and conformity.
