If you're planning to watch anime in the next 5 years then watch one piece. Watch it at a slow pace, so you can cover other animes as well and it's about the journey and not about catching up.
it seems like they are never gonna watch the show. they seem to be just watching everything about the show before they actually get any real start of it. they have been reacting to the up to date stuff since like episode 1015 which was like over 5 months ago i think. they not gonna watch it anytime soon at the very least.
The reason the architecture is on a different level from other anime is due to Oda studying architecture at university before becoming a mangaka and brining those skills over to his worldbuilding

Blue dude's name in Jinbe. He was never a villain. He is the greatest One Piece character of all time! I love Opening 24, PAINT, so much. It's not as exciting as the previous two but the syncopated rhythm and the lyrics of the song go so well with the themes of One Pice. it also has great moments like the duos at the end and seeing Law and Kidd launch Luffy to the ship.
When Jinbe's name was first written he was meant to be a villain, as a direct superior to Arlong. It was only shortly before his introduction that Oda decided to write him in as a more sympathetic character.

Whoever finds the One Piece will become the new Pirate King. And yes, Luffy's overarching motivation and goal is still the same from episode 1: to find the One Piece and, by doing so, become King of the Pirates.
People talk about 1000 episodes like they have to watch it all in one sitting lol. Watch as much as you want and stop when you wanna stop bruh it ain't that complicated
The islands shown were islands that we have gone to in the anime. Some of the islands were in movies and some are flashbacks. But we haven't gone to every island shown

It’s a very spoiler heavy video but most of the things it spoils doesn’t come into play until the 400’s at a minimum so I doubt you’ll remember the spoilers. It also probably the best one piece edit I’ve seen in any form.
the 'land of the gods' refers to a land reserved for nobles/elites who are treated as gods, they're some of the main villains of the series. so far nika (aka joyboy) is the only actual god we've seen iirc

One piece never dropped in animation quality and it's improving every generation unlike Naruto who got more terrible each time they grow old, only the movie that has good animation on that series lmao
the white haired guy with red horns is yamato and depending on how you interpret what he says he's either a trans guy or takes the identity of someone who happened to be male. he helps luffy take down the dragon you've been seeing

I actually did this when I started and now I'm currently at ep 1032. Took me 2 years to reach ep 1000+ unlike others who skips arcs
