I comment on videos very rarely but I must say that this is great. It seems like many other tutorial creators are afraid of setting up DNS records, but it is a lot more solid to do it this way in my opinion. Thank you for the great explanation!
But what about Google Business? Can you also make changes on there? I first requested a verification code via mail but then I did this TXT record changes. And hwoever it seems verified on Google Workspace but not on Google Business... I cannot reply to reviews or I cannot change any pictures on it which are really important to me tho. I will be so happy if you can answer me for this.

Is it important to put TTL to 4 hrs? I've read somewhere it's best to leave it at a default setting (1hr for my provider), and my provider doesn't offer 5 hours. The closest are 2 or 5 hours
It seems My BH layout is different. I clicked on DNS and scrolled down to TXT (Text) and clicked Add Record. I put the @ in the host then the copied TXT in the TXT bit and kept the next section on 4 hours as 14400 seconds is 4 hrs. I then clicked enter and all was ok. Just letting people know. 👍 Thanks for tutorial
Hey! Thanks for watching and thanks for letting people know about the change! That's super nice of you. I've put the updated steps in a Google doc in the show notes below the video and am working on an updated version of the tutorial. Thanks again though! Appreciate it!
Hi, Ansar! Thanks for watching! To be honest, I don't know. You're the first person to ask me that question, so I'll have to do some research and get back to you on that one. Thanks again for watching!
Hello Ben, your video is the only one with bluehost provider. Perfect!! But I have a probleme when I have to chose Dns verify zone in tthe manage options I dont have that one .I only have DNS and when I made click to continue I dont have tha screen that I should put the domain , @ and 14400. Hello....I brought the domain from Porkbun.com but I changed the nameservers to Cloudflare....So I should change the nameservers from cloud flare...not Porkbun...Am I correct?
I think I got it done. It says the DNS settings are active. Changes are published immediately, but it may take time to propagate. That's that mean that it worked? I'm new at this thing. I appreciate any input.
So I am following the steps and everything makes sense but there is no zone editor option for me. I can click DNS and I see tabs named Name Servers, DNS Manager, A (Host), CNAME, MX, SRV, TXT, and AAAA, The only option under DNS Manager is 'Reset Zones to Default.' I can't find where to add a DNS record. Any help is appreciated!
Nice! I try to answer comments every few days, so I apologize for not getting to your comment faster, but I'm glad you got it sorted on your own! That's awesome and thanks for watching! :)
GoDaddy Domain Ownership. I already verified my domain on google search consple for txt dns record but it's still not working on godaddy. What should I do?
Does my website/domain have to be live/active for this to work? My website isn’t active for the public yet, but I did buy my domain and my website is coming soon.
But what about Google Business? Can you also make changes on there? I first requested a verification code via mail but then I did this TXT record changes. Hey, Camille! Thanks for watching! After you click on DNS, scroll down to the TXT section. That's where you'll add the new TXT record. Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks again for watching!
Hey brother, I have been facing an issue with Google OAuth verification process. I have completed the steps demonstrated in this video and done my domain verification as demonstrated. Yet, in my Oauth consent screen, it still shows Pending Developer Action and suggests " Ensure your application's domains have completed the Search Console verification process " . I am stuck at this for a while and don't know which step I am missing. If you could please help, it would be very kind of you.
Great Video but I am having a problem. In a valid zone name when I try to enter ' @ '. It says," Enter Valid name" and adds @."domain name" automatically. How can I solve this problem?? Its urgent Sir.
This is a great video, unfortunately at only a few months old, I'm unable to figure this out. Bluehost has given their website a facelift it seems and the settings panel for DNS is totally different than what you're showing here. I would love an update to this video for the 2020 bluehost DNS settings. Each entry you make has an "add record" for each setting, I am worried about messing it up. I will mention this is a parked domain thats pointed to my main domain, in case that changes things. Thanks!
@Jean Graston Photography I called Bluehost and you need to go to Domains -> Manage -> Click the DNS Tab -> Scroll down to TXT (Text) and click "Add Record". Host record should be "@" and the TXT value should be the TXT text from google, TTL should be 4 Hours (min). Click save then go back to google to verify. As Blog with Ben said it may take some time to verify so check back after some time. Good luck.
Thanks for helping out, Money Cat! I love seeing the community helping one another! As you have already found out, there have been some small changes made to the backend of the Bluehost DNS settings. I'm working on a new video that shows those updates, but if you have any other questions feel free to reach out! Thanks again!
Hi, Jean! Thanks for watching! I see that Money Cat has replied to your comment, but I wanted to let you know that I'm working on a new video that shows the new DNS settings in Bluehost. I'll be sure to let you know when that's live, but if you have any questions in the meantime feel free to reach out at www.blogwithben.com/contact Thanks again for watching!
HI, I am trying to do this but my blue host does not have the DNS zone editor , it only has DNS and when I click on DNS it opens up to headings like ' Name Servers' and ' DNS Manager'. I am confused.
Hey, Nicole! I have the additional steps in a Google doc within the show notes of the video that out line your issue. Let me know if you have any questions about that. Happy to help!
Hi Ben, I just finished and watched your tutorial for launching a blog on blue host and found it soooooo easy and helpful. I have a food blog thanks to you! I’m having trouble with the DNS/zone editor. It looks very different on my screen and the only option is DNS. Has it changed since this vid aired?
Hi, Ny! Thank you so much for using my video to start your food blog! Congratulations on the new site! As for this video, yes there have been some subtle changes to the backend of Bluehost since this video was published. However, I've created a "help Google doc" that walks you through the new steps. I'm working on an updated version of this video, but until then I recommend using this doc when you come to the part of adding the TXT record. docs.google.com/document/d/1aR5v_tAEZhW_jbSIibP9DE4eH0ap9ohae1wZ_MSiLIM/edit?usp=sharing Let me know if you have any questions and thanks again for watching! :)

Hey! Thanks for watching! That's a great question. I recommend you add the TXT record under your web host. Let me know how it turns out! Thanks again for watching and good luck!

Is it important to put TTL to 4 hrs? I've read somewhere it's best to leave it at a default setting (1hr for my provider), and my provider doesn't offer 5 hours. The closest are 2 or 5 hours
Hey, Adriana! Thanks for watching and great question. I'd go with what your provider suggests. :)
Thanks a lot. After so many hours yours worked for me
That's awesome! I'm glad it helped! Thanks so much for watching! :)
This was exactly what I have been looking for
Nice video, Ben! What if I had a domain alias? Should I use the same code on the alias's DNS record? Can I link 1 property to multiple domains?
Hi, Ansar! Thanks for watching! To be honest, I don't know. You're the first person to ask me that question, so I'll have to do some research and get back to you on that one. Thanks again for watching!
Thank you for updating it for 2020! That was very helpful.
You bet! Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching, Cristina!

Great video! Your voice is clear and easy to understand. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Hi If my servers are pointing to Google Cloud do i use Google Cloud or 123 reg to verify my domain as trying to find out info from Google is pointless
Thanks Ben! Got my Weebly site set up with Google Search Console

Thanks for making it so easy Ben! You saved me tonight.
That's awesome to hear! Thanks for watching, Carmen! I really appreciate it!
Hello....I brought the domain from Porkbun.com but I changed the nameservers to Cloudflare....So I should change the nameservers from cloud flare...not Porkbun...Am I correct?
Hey, Ishan! Thanks for watching! Yes, if you're wanting to point your domain to Cloudflare, then you should change the nameservers to Cloudflare. :)
I think I got it done. It says the DNS settings are active. Changes are published immediately, but it may take time to propagate. That's that mean that it worked? I'm new at this thing. I appreciate any input.
Hi, Ruben! Yep, you should be good to go! It's been six days since your comment. Have you been verified yet? Thanks for watching! :)
Can we have Google analytics and search console on different email ids
Hey, Mihir! I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I'll have to do some research and get back to you. Good question! Thanks for wathcing!
Super informative video Ben! I was able to verify my a/c by following your step by step process. Thanks a lot!
Awesome! Thanks for watching, Nilotpal! I'm glad the video was able to help you out and I appreciate the comment. :)
Never mind figured it out. Thanks for the clear and concise video!
Nice! I try to answer comments every few days, so I apologize for not getting to your comment faster, but I'm glad you got it sorted on your own! That's awesome and thanks for watching! :)
can you explain how to set custom url for g suites.
GoDaddy Domain Ownership. I already verified my domain on google search consple for txt dns record but it's still not working on godaddy. What should I do?
Hi, Alissa! Thanks for watching. I'm sorry your having an issue, but what do you mean exactly when you say it's still not working?
Does my website/domain have to be live/active for this to work? My website isn’t active for the public yet, but I did buy my domain and my website is coming soon.
Hey, Lamont! Thanks for watching! As long as your domain is live within your web host, you should be good to go.
Thanks, solved my problem. Keep up the great work!
Awesome! I love hearing that! Thanks so much for watching! :)
Yesterday evening i have searched this video on ur channel..as u have mentioned about this in ur previous video...thx for uploading dis one....
You're very welcome! Google Search Console is an awesome free resource for bloggers and is super easy to set up! Thanks for watching! :)
Does it matter that I only see dns not dns editor upon clicking on domains? I'm completely lost. There's so much that I see after that.
Hey, Camille! Thanks for watching! After you click on DNS, scroll down to the TXT section. That's where you'll add the new TXT record. Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks again for watching!
Blog With Ben thanks :)
Thank you for very informative and easy to follow tutorial! :)
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching, Irena!
I didn't have Bluehost, I just use Wordpress. Thank you for posting the helpful links in the notes as I was able to get through using WP and Jetpack.
Awesome! I love hearing that! Thanks for watching, Anthony! Glad the video was able to help you out!
Hi! Thanks for watching! Sometimes it take a few days. I see that your comment was about two days ago. Are you still having that issue?
Thank you for all the information! This video is worth its weight in gold.
WOW! Thanks a lot! That's so nice of you to say! Glad it was helpful!
Many thanks Ben this was a great help. site verification has become even more of complex thing than years ago !
Thanks, David! I'm glad the video was able to help you out!
Great Video but I am having a problem. In a valid zone name when I try to enter ' @ '. It says," Enter Valid name" and adds @."domain name" automatically. How can I solve this problem?? Its urgent Sir.
Hey, I have a question. I follow step by step 100% same but it does not verify me and I can not found the problem. that should I do?
thank you
what can I do?
Thanks for watching! Sorry you're having and issue though. Did you get any errors when you initially tried to verify your domain?
@@blogwithben Thank you!! Your videos have helped me so much :)
This is the best showing.👍🏻
Thanks so much, Deborah! I really appreciate that! :)
@@blogwithben Perfect!!! Thanks so much!!
Hi my website has domain registrar at crazydomain and web hosting at siteground, and connected to cloudflare. If I want to add txt dns record for google search console. where should I add the record ? domain registrar, web hosting, or cloudflare ?
Hey! Thanks for watching! That's a great question. I recommend you add the TXT record under your web host. Let me know how it turns out! Thanks again for watching and good luck!
THIS WAS VERY HELPFUL THANK YOU!

I love your training! Keep going! You really make it simple to understand!
Hey, Dan! I really appreciate that! I'll keep going as long as I can! Thanks for watching! :)
Thank you very much, it was very helpful. I used Cloudflare, but with your instructions it was very easy to follow (even if it was a little bit different).
Hey, Xristina! Thanks for watching! I love hearing that you were able to use the video with a different web host. That's great and nice work! :)

Is there any solution for the problem of "invalid DNS" in my custom domain ?
Hey, Toslim! Thanks for watching! Sorry you're having an issue. I'm not 100% sure about the solution though. I'll do some digging and see what I can come up with.
Thank you for this video. Your videos are great!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching, Rashmi!
