Rivers State, as is today, has ONLY four house of representative members. Therefore, the governor can ONLY be impeached by only these four remaining members, until INEC conducts an election to fill the 27 vacated seats.

If the parties knew that the matter is still pending court, then the question is why would the impostors be amending the laws in the state to frustrate the governor? @@JMax7890 first off the law is clear that anyone who commits murder , should be killed. Does that mean if you catch someone killing someone, you kill the person???? No you take the person to court for judgement to be pronounced. Now apply that same standard here. Aside from that, the said lawmakers claim they meet the standard set by that same article 109 for them to defect. Cos all of you who keep quoting that article 109 always conveniently ignore the clause in that same article which gives the lawmakers the right to defect if there is division in the national leadership of the party , which is what the lawmakers claim as their reason to defect. The question we should first be asking is doesn’t it actually meet the criteria ? Now let’s examine . Ayu claims he was illegally suspended and is now in court to retrieve his mandate. Then the pdp instead of following their constitution and appointing someone from ayu geopolitical zone to serve out his term as expressly stated in their constitution. Instead they gave the mantle to their deputy chairman north , to serve in an acting capacity. Which is brazenly unconstitutional. If ayu prevails in court, that means all actions taken by the current acting chairman would be declared null and viod including any local and national primaries he conducted which can destroy the political career of those lawmakers who participated in that primaries. Now if that does not meet the standard of division in the national leadership of the party set by the constitution as reason to legally defect, then I don’t know what would meet the standard. But even if you disagree and say it still does not meet that bar, you need to understand it’s not our job to decide if it is. That decision can only be made by the courts. So rather than coming online and spewing ignorant statement like oooh “ their seats are vacant “ you should shut your mouth and let the court decide.
Who can dare wike during his 8 years as the governor
The office of the president of Nigeria must be respected. But the president is not bigger than the constitution and can not be giving orders to a sitting governor, which is what happened here. The people of Rivers State are not having it.

Gov. Fubara is doing the right thing. The Rivers State Assembly have delivered a checkmate by appointment of new Speaker. Now the illegality of the defected legislative members is fully established. Now pertaining quorum, the 4 legislative members are the bonafide members, hence have formed a quorum. The constitution is clear on this matter. Let's not allow non constitutional means of resolving democratic issues, we will destroy our democratic gains.

Arise Team had wished that Gov. Fubara came to them and made statements on their Television since the start of this 'fight'. That he has not done that has not gone down well with them and they try to twist clear facts. The Governor has chosen to do the right thing by not making too many statements, knowing that any statement he makes can be misunderstood like his last statement is been misunderstood now. In which State in Nigeria do you have a sitting Governor and someone else from outside calls the shorts? It can be demeaning to twist facts only to serve our ego.

Nothing like in the eye of the law. Law is law and until fubara camp vacates all the necessary resolution of the house of the assembly and the issue of the seats of the defected house of assembly members. As it stands now, no pronouncement of the court has changed the course of situation in rivers State.

Section 91(1) of the Nigerian Constitution forbids any state legislature to be less than 24 people, so the 4-member branch of the Rivers State House of Assembly is as illegal as the Amaehule-led 27-member version. I like governor Fubara but he should be firm on any position he takes over this matter. He is inadvertently committing an impeachable offense by dealing with legislators who he knows that the Constitution no longer recognizes. Governor Fubara is abating lawlessness by allowing these imposters led by Amaehule to keep parading themselves as legislators- he should activate whatever he is refusing to activate.
Tinubu does not have respect for the people of Rivers State, forgotten that Rivers was colonized by the British, they understand the constitution.
