Okay, one thing about NCT is that they existed of 3 units, which are NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream, and the total members you see right now that are active consists of 16 members. You will see more new members coming in NCT U or other units, right now, the 2 new members are Jungwoo and Lucas.
NCT U is a rotational/project unit, which means they will be adding and changing the members, depending on their concepts.
NCT 127 is a fixed unit, which means there will be no changes, no adding members, unless there's a conditional reason. But since, it's a city based-unit, you will see more members coming in for other national cities, example, the current base is the Korean-based, which consists of 9 members, which means the Korean-based unit will stay as 9. But they will add other national members in different countries, for example, like the Chinese members will be promoted in China, Japanese members will be promoted in Japan, Thai members will be promoted in Thailand, and so on. You get it. But as I said, the Korean-based unit will stay as 9 members ONLY.
NCT Dreams consists of young members from ages 15 to 18. Once they reached the age of 18, or 19, they will graduate from this unit. For the member/s that has other units, they will be working in that/those unit/s. For the ones that only currently have 1 unit, they will have to wait till they are added to another unit.
NCT U's first line-ups consisted of 6 members, which they were divided into 2 groups, which are the performance group, and the ballad group.
- The first line-up started with the performance group, which consisted of 5 members: Taeyong, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Mark, and Ten. Their song was "The 7th Sense".
- A little bit after that was the ballad group, which consisted of 3 members: Taeil (debuted), Jaehyun, and Doyoung, with the song "Without U". And their second song, which came out this year was "Timeless".
- This year, 2 new members got added into NCT U, which are Lucas and Jungwoo, with this song. And Win Win also got added into this line-up as well.
- They also have another song this year, which is "Baby Don't Stop", which consists a duo, Taeyong and Ten.
NCT 127 first with the song, "Firetruck", consisted of 7 members: Taeyong, Jaehyun, Taeil, Mark, Yuta (debut), Haechan/Donghyuk (debut), and Win Win (debut).
- Then a year after (2017), 2 members were added, 1 new member, which was Johnny, and 1 member was just added, which was Doyoung (who debuted with NCT U, in "The 7th Sense" and "Without U" line-ups), with the song, "Limitless". And their current song, which was last year, "Cherry Bomb".
NCT Dream had 7 members with the song, "Chewing Gum". The members are Mark, Haechan, the new members here are Jeno, Jaemin, Renjun, Chenle, and Jisung.
- A year after, because Jaemin was under physical condition, he was given a break, so they promoted with 6 members after that with songs, "My First And Last" and "We Young".

If you listen to their voices enough, you can actually hear Doyoung’s voice during the high note since Jaehyun’s voice sounds slightly deeper than Doyoung’s.

And yes your interpretation of boss’s meaning is correct! Notice that the MV uses a lot of circles/spheres in the background, the members even formed a circle at the start, and there’s taeyong holding that sphere thing and staring at it. It means that NCT members have been trapped in their own world being the boss and not connecting with anyone outside their own world, in doyoung’s part he was locking a door and keeping everyone out of his own world. However, at the end (outro, dance break) they finally realise that they all share the same goal and they are able to empathise (that’s how the Empathy album got its name) with one another and are all bosses in their own way, there’s this new world that enters NCT’s world, which means that they are opening up to others.
"I dont know if it’s that deep" actually NCT songs and MVs and concepts are all pretty deep and meaning (actually all SM groups are, including red velvet and exo, awesome concepts, very versatile)

Win win, the blonde guy but not the rapper, actually isn't new it's just Lucas and Jungwoo who are new to NCT overall. They put Lucas and Jungwoo in the place of Ten and Taeil. There is another new member named Kun but he isn't in NCT U.
