That F-250 with the 6.4 PowerStroke, it ran perfect when you started it but that misfire I’m 99% sure was the truck going into regen, that would also explain the smoke.
@@braylenmccormick4396 Doesn’t matter if it’s deleted or not the regen cycle on those is controlled by the computer, only way to get rid of it is to reprogram it. It’s not a typical DEF or DPF system, basically it puts extra fuel in cylinder 8 during an exhaust stroke and it sends fuel through the exhaust burning out any buildup.

That van with no key, should be the same as our 6.0 was when we left the key at home, pop the lower dash cover off, should be a box that has 2 torx head bolts, pull it off, and you can slide the switch and have full ignition control.
On the 350, I suspect you had the positive and negative reversed on one of the batteries. That would explain some of what you were seeing, especially having it sit at 16v without it running. Also, look at the placement of the positive and negative connections on the next pickup you looked at.
No, if you rewatch the video the positive and negative are on the correct terminals at the start you can see the red jumpers on the terminal with the cover attached to them
He had them on right you can see that in the video and it would sit at 16volts with 2 jumps packs but i do beleave its a power problem why it wont start
F250 & 350 are still worth throwing a motor in or a trans if nothing else major wrong. I got an F350 for $5k, sunk about $13k more in it and it has been chuggin' along for 2+ years. Twice been offered cash for more than what I have in it, but I couldn't replace it with anything comparable for the price
Trucks are cool, but I think a van would be great, could make it a cargo van and it can be used to haul stuff, could also be useful with the house renovations. Another good video
It wouldn’t be too much to get a key for that van, as it doesn’t use a key with a chip in it, as I remember, even for more recent ones than that. I used to drive those vans at the last company I worked for, a few 15 passenger vans, and also had worked for a Ford dealership.
Just a FYI for everyone reading this, If you lose the key to your vehicle, then take your VIN# and proof you own the vehicle to the parts department of a dealership that sells your brand of vehicle and they can make you a basic key like that van takes in about 5 minutes, for like $10-$15. the price is higher for electronic keys and keys that have built-in key fobs, but they can make you one of those also.

They may have had the van mistaken with the old school Dodge Caravans from the late '80s they actually had a glove box under the passenger seat. Don't get me wrong, some newer Vans may have as well, but I know for a fact the 87 Caravans did. That lift in that van, if it works is worth $1000 by itself, ask me how I know.
Randy the reason it got hot was that was the main battery. Them 6.4 diesel engines were not that great. My dad had 1 from new did every thing by the book went 200k then just died. They were only good for 100k to 150.
sometimes there's might be a hide a key, bumper fender well etc. or contact the registered owner and ask if they found the key. what's the lot number on the 250? and which outfit? I'm would be interested.
I'm with you Randy, that van would be the perfect gift vehicle. You're not in the position too buy it and spend $2500 and then gift it away. Shame about that F350, looks good from a distance. I had a Fox body 89 pony convertible in 1996 and wished I kept it now. I abandoned it in Ohio when I was moved too the UK in 2002. Even then it still was in very good nic, always maintained by me and the USA army guys. They were great, snuck my car in and never had too pay a cent. Still wonder if it is there today, but doubt it.

Sd are good trucks i know there heavier built than a chevy/gmc of same category i know because i have both and the ford is way more sturdier built rig i can tell by looking at the frames the leaf springs and hangers etc.
Hey, Randy on the handicap van there is one place that you did not check for a key above the drink holders but under the radio there is a spot for paper work and I have had a key make it’s way in there before.
Both fords have the 6.4 powerstroke. The dually with those miles the engine is toast/fried/gone/however you want to put it. Ford dealers have straight up told me to stay away from their 6.0 & 6.4 cause how many problems they have. 2003.5-2010 ford outsourced their diesel engines & regret it cause how many problems they have. They keep trying to increase the MPG. You should never get a diesel truck if you want good MPG. You should get a smart car if you want good MPG.
Some of those E series do have storage boxes under the seats. Also no E series from this gen has a glove box over on the passenger side, the glove box, if equipped, would be on the backside of engine doghouse.

I have worked at a lot of auctions and it's been my experience banks and insurance Company's won't move off what they want for a vehicle and they wind up floating from auction to action have worked at two auctions here in OK and seen the same vehicle at both.
I paid 2900 for my 05 350 and 2500 for my 04 250. They are both clunkers, need work. But run and drive. I don't bother with auction vehicles. Just buy them off of facebook or craigslist. At least, even if they are junk. You know what your dealing with before hand.

Please for the love of god don’t buy a 6.4 ford especially a 2008. They have terrible engine issues they’re usually dead by 100k. And replacing the engine requires cab removal so it’s insanely expensive. Like over $10k

it could be a head gasket. if it smokes it could be burning a bit of antifreeze which could cause the miss fire

The F250 doesn't really run the best, unless I'm not used to hearing powerstroke engines.. kinda sounds like the injectors are working weird.
It’s the valves their normal but that’s just how they sound I drive a 7.3 powerstroke

My 6.0 had a completely dead cylinder and rough idled intermittently and also no check engine light and it was just a lose injector.
