Scuderia AlphaTauri Testing at Imola Circuit w/ AT01 & Toro Rosso STR13 (June 2020)

- A few weeks ahead of the beginning of the 2020 championship, Scuderia AlphaTauri (how Scuderia Toro Rosso has been renamed from this year) held a filming day at Autodromo di Imola. A filming day is basically one of the only, if not the only, occasion for teams to run their current cars during the season. Only two per year are allowed with a maximum of 100 kilometers possible each tests. Pirelli “Demo” tires are used, different from those used during the actual championship. Filming Days should have promotional purposes, by making photos and videos for the sponsors or for commercial/TV ads, but honestly I've never seen such things at those few I managed to attend in the last years (of course there's the team's media crew track-side but drivers behave like they're doing a standard test day, no camera cars chasing the single seaters, no rolling shots and stuffs like that).
At the test there were both factory drivers Daniil Kvjat and Pierre Gasly. For the first half of the day, they alternate each other behind the wheel of an old Toro Rosso STR13 from 2018 and then in the afternoon they jumped into the 2020 AlphaTauri AT01 to complete the 100km. It was really nice to see the modern gen of cars going that fast around Imola circuit!

STR 13 has very lovely sound❤️
The cornering speed is just insane omg
Damnn those honda burbles😍
This one sounds surprisingly better than the current car to my ears.
It is a real shame the drivers and teams can't test properly during the season. Very counterproductive.
5:28 since when f1 started using 2 strokes?
Lol
It has cylinder deactivation
Sound like Mazda 😍
@@User10111993 no that's just it idling
@@GF-mf7ml Mazda what
The speed of these things is insane
Today’s cars do have a little of their own charm sound wise. Not pure the way we liked NA cars but kind of a mix of several mechanical sounds together. There is no doubt how quick they are though, my god. They would crush mid 2000 era cars.
The Honda's anti-lag sounds so raw. If only it had a screaming V8 or V10 to go along with that. Imagine if the V8's had blown diffuser and that anti-lag sound - that would be the most raw and mean sounding F1 car.
Well soon or later F1 has to change to bigger and less costing engines, Maybe V8 or V10 Twin turbo engines? Because if they are still gonna use Hybrid engines there isn't gonna be any new manufacturers that would join F1, but if F1 start using carbon neutral fuel there is no need to run on Hybrid engines as well, that would be stupid
@@thesucker2002 F1 at this era is at a conflict of itself. It wanted to be the forefront of technological innovation, yet highly regulated to lower costs for smaller teams. I don't think going back to bigger and more cylinders would help the sport in technological innovation, but would improve lowering costs. What I think F1 needs is to have a stable sponsorship. An industry that could match the financially healthy years of the tobacco sponsorship.
@@jannadrielcervo7753 I agree with both of you. Liberty Media's takeover was somewhat of a conflict of interests. F1 lost some of its purity and integrity when Liberty Media and FOM made it more like a reality show, than a pure racing series. They complicated the power units so substantially, while trying to "keep costs down" which is completely counterintuitive.
@@jannadrielcervo7753 well if we talk about "technical innovation" F1 has been reeeeeeally late in the hybrid engines, since manufacturers like Toyota and Honda were already developing Hybrid engines on the early 2000s, and also there is not any single road car that uses the exact same hybrid technology that F1 uses because the costs are really high and because its too complicated to produce in mass, also there is no need of F1 to run hybrid engines at this point, they already showed the car manufacturers what hybrid technology can do, now its time to move foward to other thing, what about maximise the efficiency on normal ICE engines? That would be possible if in the future F1 starts using some syntethic fuel forms like Carbon Neutral Fuel that is being developed for 2023 i think and F1 is gonna start using it that year

They look so graceful and quick going around the corners. But I still miss the screaming V10s of the past. But still, not bad for modern Grand Prix cars.
Go cry
@@asherfriedlander3493 nah 😆
I get a better understanding of corner speeds, by watching your footage, as opposed to watching f1 coverage on my HD television on actual race day!
AS ALWAYS... Your Filming of EVERY EVENT you Attend is Absolutely Incredible! Thank you so much for sharing your passion and expertise with us! Stay Safe and Stay Healthy my friend! ❤🙏❤
Damn this is proper fast
Gasly sighting at 5:05 right side of the screen!
Pierre Gasly and Max did win one race each this year. Honda should not be leaving F1 next year.
salute
Well, Mercedes led 828 laps this year, and except in Silverstone, Monza, and Bahrein all the races were win by Mercedes, and also the costs of the actual engines and the investigation, development, and production costs of this engines are absolutely massive, i think that the motives for what Honda is leaving F1 are pretty clear
@@thesucker2002 Honda is focusing on Indycar.
@@wildboar1188 it could be very possible, Indycar has gone to a point where it is at its absolute best, Indycar is in lots of aspects way better than F1 and for some reason from 2019 they got getting better and better
I keep forgetting that I can't be looking at porn on the job. Dammit...
I think I cracked a rib watching him take some of those turns.
Crazy speed🤯🤯🤯
Spectacular video 👏👏👏
It's insane how late (and from what a high speed) you can go on brakes.

I forgot to insert my hearing aids.. Oops!!
Especially the STR13 is loud, proper loud and also, a sweet burble of a Honda. Idk what's the problem with the broadcasting audio.....
@Ricky did you ever heard them in real life then?
@Ricky V10s 🥰🤤
Aprilia GP bike 😍😍 0:06
Do you know who were the Drivers ?
Kvjat Gasly
Piu' guardo il circuito di Imola e piu' mi convinco che e' stato un errore sminuire la staccata della Tosa e cambiare configurazione alla variante delle aque minerali.......
Listen Codemasters! Just listen!
Better download some mods for assetto corsa alot better then f1 games from codemaster

Is beatifull an f1 road an the circuit v8 v10 v6 classic is my pasion

F1 cars are too efficient these days. Less aero, less tire and more driver would make it more interesting to watch imho
Oh you would love 2022 then
So IndyCar's road course package?
Poxy sound.
Is it me or do these cars sound really annoying?
It's you.
It's been 6 years, get the fuck over it
No. The one I only love the current V6 is the Honda.
@@rowen42069 I think you agree with me. Your just over it!
Move on, boomer.
They sound dull, lifeless, unexciting... Bring back the V10s. Or, heck, make these rev higher.
Wah wah, v10 good, v12 good, bring back the old days because Im a whiney twat who comments on every single video of an f1 car after 2014 saying how the good old days were better. Get a life mate😂😂😂
