Easily more exciting and motivating than anything I saw on the WSL all year. This is what surfing should look like and this is how it should make you feel!!!!!
So at home in the water, and always looks like he's having so much fun! I'm constantly amazed at how fluid and agile he is for such a big guy. Nice to see all this pre-drone footage.
Jamie you have no idea how much this movie meant to me as a kid. It was one of the first surf movies I ever bought. It was that and a movie about Andy Irons. RIP to the legend of course. Watching those is what fueled My desire to want to travel and surf And was the inspiration for me moving to Costa Rica and Nicaragua for a little over 4 years just to surf. You, Irons, Slater and Pat O'Connell will always be my all-time favorite. 🤙 Oh and the Outer Banks are about to light up from hurricane Lee guys. Yewwwwww

I remember when you surfed progressively and took surfing more seriously; trying to help shape its direction. I remember getting the 1st 411VM surfing and seeing your part in it. I think it was filmed in CA. I know the Jackass model for surfing was lucrative and RedBull was a good move financially, but I think you sorta left a hole/void where surfing progress was concerned at that time. You were definitely leading the charge. I don’t think all those Red Bulls were good for you man. I know Kai rides for them, but I doubt he drinks them. It’s like P. Rod in skating, Mountain Dew pays the bills but ruined his body. You’re a few years younger than me, go full carnivore cut all the bs out of the diet and get back what you had!! What if your channel was less Johnny Knoxville and more the old JOB pushing surfing again?! Your talent has always been bar-none. How rad would it be for surfing if you dumped all the gimmicks and spent a year or two buckling down like an athlete and then getting on tour to crush? Or just made some sick video parts again like these? The industry has changed, but there’s guys my age nostalgic for the old school vibes. I think you sorta accepted being an uncle before your time.

Damn Jamie I forgot how steezy you used to be. Some of those backhand stand up pipe bombs were mental. You can tell your focus these days is about getting as deep as possible instead of looking for that stand up straight cover shot. Thank you for sharing these on YT for us all to enjoy.
