And I'm still amazed that they both thought it was a good idea to move over to ugly early 3D graphics... ...and then double and triple down by releasing hordes of new Stronghold games that each successively failed to do what the first managed.
The music for this game was great. Absolutely love every track and even use them at my dnd sessions since I'm in charge of building the playlists. I remember picking the game up on a whim and just spending hours setting things up, testing out different plans, and the occasional stupid decision making and tactics that somehow paid off. This was another game I got my dad into. I know my copy is on one of my shelves, might just have to revisit this game now.
I remember playing the game around the time it appeared. Didn't lasted long, because I couldn't keep the food ratio up. Left it alone for some time and then I revisited it again, finding something great. I loved listening to its beautiful music in the free build mode. I will post a couple more music and ambience videos from this game in the following weeks. I'm also considering posting a Port Royale video.
Beautiful game. Good pre-rendered 2D visuals have a magical charm that 3D can not capture. After all these years even the original visuals look great and the HD versions are really good too.
Winston Wolfe! I help solve problems. You got a stiff in the horse drawn cart, residing in the barn. Jimmy? Make us the finest tankard of ale, lotsa hops, lotsa frothy head!
This gives me anxiety ; where is the stockpile ? Half your economy (your wheat farmers, mill boys, brewers) is idle because there is no stockpile. The iron is unexploited. The tower is empty and unguarded :o
I am still amazed how good the graphics look even 22 years later.
bro they added animated trees to to game 22 years ago wtf
It's from the remastered version
@@lamidou9998 the remastered version launched 1,5 years after this video....

@@Henners1991 tbh Stronghold 2 was actually not as bad as the later games. However you are still right about the 3d graphics
One of the best game what i ever played...
Yea a friend got me hooked on this series after I came back from Iraq in 2004. Loved the game and the music ever since
The fact that granary is almost depleted for most time in 3rd view doesn't help me relax
that just means peak efficiency, which is most relaxing
That is exactly what gonna happen if we dont have bake🤣😂
Also the brewer guy is left hanging with his barrel there for a very long time infront of his brewery. Not very relaxing.

In my opinion, pre-rendered 2D ages like wine, 3D like milk🍷🥛
"a message from the wolf"...🐺👿

The best soundtrack ever!
Great to see you featuring Stronghold! Absolutely amazing game. I replayed all missions last winter and it was really enjoyable.
Whenever I play Valheim I still say "More wood needed" in my head
wood needed sire
More wood is needed!
Castle Jam is my jam. I pretty much only played Stronghold for that song.
Briliant.
It's hard to pick a favourite track from this game, but Castlejam would be easily in the shortlist of the best. Good times sir...good times.
Castlejam, but the two mandolins version.
Оууу. Супер супер!! Спасибо!
Привет из Киева!)
GOD TIER ambience, the people worship you sire
so calming
What a lovely idea
Very nice! Can you tell me what the second soundtrack that starts at 5:00 is called? It's a brilliant piece of music!
Can't wait to play manor lords next weekend with this as soundtrack
mornin' yer lordship
LOVE this.
my childhood 🥹
wood needed
More wood is needed
sounds of home
The 'random' children laughter sounds kind of creepy after an hour in.
This is perfect
Astonishing game! 😎
The granary is full my lord
Is that even an option? All I know is No food distributed this month, Sire
@@Patriot1066Tom bad food management 😂
Великая игра!
