- We're starting a new Off Road Wednesday build, a TrailMaster MB-200 196cc clone powered mini bike! With this mini bike build, we're hoping to turn every aspect of this bike up to 11, to eventually make it competitive with Ike's vintage Kawasaki KT250 trials bike.

Would you look at that they gave you a new go cart frame and it came with a bike in it. Lol
better idea (imho) put the shipping crate frame back together, and casters to the bottom, and slap a piece of plywood on top. WORKBENCH! you can put you project carts up there and stop working on the floor ( no more burning Dad's garage tiles)

I've got a black one, its a great bike. Mine hit 45 mph GPS out of the box just takes a min to get there. Now I have a box stock header pipe with mini RLV muffler and an intake. Put in an Autolite 3910X and changed out low speed jet to .021 and main jet to .035. Also put in a 140 E-tube. Really woke her up compared to stock, especially on the bottom and mid range. Looking forward to this project!

if you want to race it with dirt bikes find a transmission from a old 125 with a clutch.
the transmission and engine on a motorcycle are in the same case, you can't separate them, also a CVT transmission isn't slowing them down, a snowmobile with a good 500cc engine uses a CVT, compare that to a 500cc motorcycle and the sled will beat it along with being a lot heavier... the transmission isn't the problem... the problem is they are using chinese engines that only rev to maybe 5000rpm (gov removed) and make very little base torque to begin with, for example, a 301cc predator makes about 12hp with the gov removed at 5000 rpm, an atv engine of smaller displacement, say a 250cc made from a reputable manufacturer may make about 25-30hp at 8500rpm, real atv engines are much closer in construction to engines of cars than they are the chinese "lawn mower" style engines... the weak block and lack of oil pump and galleries makes it very difficult to get high compression and high revs out of these engines no matter what crankshaft, rod, valve springs you have
Dyllidan ret No you can't but if you use the crankshaft as the input shaft you could use it as a stand alone transmission ive done it before with Chinese atv engines

Cool build idea...
Use a riding mower engine for a go cart. You can find even the 20hp+ on the cheap. Be cool to see how to convert it to a usable platform. Also to see how you would make it faster.

There are actually some 2 smokes that do have a cam. Google 2 stroke crosshead engine.

Most 2-stroke diesels also use some form cam-operated valvetrain too (like all the old Detroit engines).
i think they still have exhaust valves up top that need a cam, oh and maybe mechanical injectors

SHORT of stuffing a dirt bike/atv engine in that mini bike ,it will never keep up with that old dirt bike let alone with a newer dirt bike, and it probably wont then off road because of the suspension and tire and gearing..wont happen..but good luck trying..ill be watching.

Hey @CarsandCameras, have you ever thought of doing a split screen display so you don't have to switch back and forth from Issac and your go pro John?
If you're keeping the 196cc engine, try using some kind of forced induction on it. You've stated that you're going all out, so I want to see that bike pushed to the breaking point. Bored and stroked, high compression, nitrous, the whole nine yards.
I wish the smaller, wimpy bearded fellow had a hillbilly accent like the larger cloned dude, that'd be cool!...Also, I wish the 2 clones would make a racing vid!

Bang for buck it's best. Parts are readily available. It moves through all the right stuff where bigger bikes can't go. It's light enough to carry on your shoulders if it fails in woods. It floats. It won't get stuck easy.

XXSRGXXSTONE15 that is a old trials bike a ky 250 I believe from 1970 not really geared or meant to be fast at all a kx 250 of that time that would come a little later is meant for speed and is much faster
Just like to point out, for the same price as that trailmaster I could probably get an actual motocross bike from the 80s that's better than both of those bikes in every way, so I think the "value" aspect is a little skewed. Other than that, You really have my interest with what you'll do with it, and keep the offroad wednesdays coming! I love what you've done so far.

Boys, thank you for running the two smoke dirt bike. Your video shows why the two smokes just destroyed the established four stroke bikes back in the 60's-70's. Us old timers just love to hear that braaap, ring-ding-ding sound of a hot 2 smoke off road bike running away from a plonking 4 stroke.

Hey guys. So gopowersports just came out with a new Tillotson TCT mechanical fuel injection caberator. There's some tuning chart posted all over with it, but I can't make heads or tails of it. Would yas please do a video on installing, and tuning the mixture at all the rpms and such? Thank ya.
You guys should do a lifan 125 build. 4 gears a clutch small pitbike style motor with 8hp and the 140cc has 12hp with the same mounting tabs for a power upgrade. Needless to say works great for shifter karts bikes anything

John's the kid who's mom wouldn't let him have a dirtbike, so his parents got him a mini bike from sams club. Damn Kawasaki has cruise control and he's afraid of it. Ike rides the bitch like he stole it, exactly how you ride an old kawi.
One thing needs to be added is a front brake system from the factory then use a 17 tooth front sprocket and a 47 tooth rear then use a tillotson 212 electric start engine with a juggernaut clutch and run the engine to maximum RPM's with the governor system still in use this setup would be a serious power house top speed could be near 50 mph then also offer a street legal version as well.

I really like how the production quality of your channel keeps getting better and better, but these videos of nothing but helmet cam footage for ten minutes gets really boring really fast. If you can't bring a third person to shoot wide shots, then maybe get a cheap tripod and a gopro.

Duh! Of course I wanna see a race. Especially if you are going to upgrade the Trail master later on.
It's however going to be hard for it to hang with a dirt bike...even an old one. Then again it's going to have torque for DAYS with some sweet mods.
