What a wonderful tribute to Terry Gordy. The Freebirds defined greatness in wrestling back in the 1980’s and literally brought many territories back to life.

I was able to meet Terry Gordy when I was 12 (1986). He was an uncle to a childhood friend that I grew up with in East Lake( downtown Chattanooga, about 2 miles from where he's buried). I can still remember shaking his hand,, it was twice the size of a normal hand. Always loved the freebirds

man this song pulls at my emotions. watching these guys perform back in the day was the greatest thing ever. its sad that todays wrestling fans wont get the chance to feel what we did in the 80's watching these guys show boat around, strutting and moonwalking. the fabulous freebirds were the best entertainers in the industry. thanks guys for all you have done for us through the years.

It is hard to believe that it’s been a little over 20 years now. I have the pleasure of knowing Michael and Terry for close to 50 years. Terry’s dad, daughters and nephew. I actually spoke with Terry the night before he passed. He had his faults as do we all but a better friend I’ve never had.

Michael not only have you lost Terry and now Buddy, you have watched a lot of guys leave, many who left too soon. Reality has placed you now in the position along with guys like Kevin Von Erich, Sting, Undertaker and others in a position of being the elder statesmen of the business. Keep sharing your memories with the young guys.

My introduction to wrestling was around Wrestlemania 5, I was seven years old. My brother and I watched any wrestling that came on tv and I remember the Free Birds clearly. When you're that young you don't understand the concept of the business, but as I got older and especially as these legends began to leave us you realize just how special they were, rather face or heel. Terry Gordy is one of those legends, wonderful tribute from Michael Hayes.

The Road Warriors, Free Birds, Von Erich's, Gino Hernandez, Chris Adams, Jim Garvin and Sunshine, Koloff's, Midnight Expreess, Midnight Rockers, Midnight Rockers, etc.....Those were great times and great wrestling. The guys and gals today will never ever match up to those old dogs.

Michael PS Hayes. You sir did the ultimate tribute to BamBam in my humble opinion here. He was no question one of the absolute best. And certainly one of the best bigger guys in the wrestling world. And I know that if he were here today and in a matter of speaking in his prime. He could damn sure go toe to toe with anyone on any given night. He had some of the most legendary matches ever with "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. Those 2 bulls going at one another. Was a site to see. I only wish that I would have had the honor of seeing Terry as well as Buddy in person. But I am certainly glad that I at the very least got to see them on tv. Weather you loved or hated The Freebird. There was no denying how damn good they was.

Unm it whether, not weather, and hasn’t anyone ever told you wrestling is fake. They don’t really fight, they are just wannabe tough guys who do drugs and abuse alcohol and abuse their spouses.

Buddy wasn't yet dead when Michael made this video. He even says its been 10 years since you went away which makes this 2011. Buddy Roberts wasn't dead til November 2012.

I hope Michael updates the song to mentions Buddy's passing. I doubt he'll include Brad/Badstreet since it was a short while and i have no idea if they were friends behind the scenes.

@@healer246 You're probably right, but it's a more comforting thought than focussing on all the worms and maggots that are having a good old hearty dinner six feet below where Hayes was filming that.

This is how you pay tribute to your brother. I grew up a a huge freebirds fan. Heels? Baby faces? Didn't matter, they were rockstars- bad asses, larger than life. These guys entertained me and other fans for so many years and now? Half of them are gone. Just shows you just how precious life really is.
    RIP Terry & Buddy.

Michael we all indeed have missed Terry, and I got to give you full credit that this was one good song from the heart I salute you , and specially to the Fabulous Freebirds with the song that Lynard Skynard really sang that song, and I always hear it. It's like remembering you guys.

I first started watching wrestling as a kid back in the 70's, so I was around to witness The Fabulous Freebirds' rise to fame. I loved it when "Bad Street Atlanta GA" would start to play because that meant the Freebirds were on their way to the ring to kick whoever's butts were in their way. Whenever you saw Michael "PS" Hayes...he almost always had Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy by his side. They were the original duo that started the legacy of the Fabulous Freebirds, and when you saw them on tv you could sense the bond they shared as ring partners as well as friends. R.I.P. Terry Gordy, and Godspeed to you Michael Seitz.

Very fitting that they used the music of the Van Zant Brothers about Ronnie.
    There all freebirds now.
My life is better just to have been so entertained by lynryd skynyrd and Terry Gordy.
In both instances they had to leave us way too soon.
    May they all R.I.P.✝️😪
