@18:30 ish -- WOW... You just have to love the way George's friend so "subtly" works a Carnation Milk Ad into the middle of the teleplay. It was so blatant! And people complain about product placement and ads in movies and TV shows today! It's been around forever as long as there's been mass media, folks! (When IS the last time I saw Carnation Milk? I don't drink evaporated or powdered milk. On occasion, I've had Parmalat since it agrees with me but I don't think I've drunk Carnation Milk in over 30 years!) There was another Burns & Allen episode -- I don't think it's THIS one -- where one of the cast members got fed up with the product endorsement (probably still Carnation Milk; they had different sponsors for other seasons of B&A) and went offscript and was really sarcastic if I remember correctly. Burns was one of the producers of the series and under enormous pressure and chewed his fellow cast member out after the episode aired. In some ways, it was easier to slip things under the radar, in other ways it was just as easy as it is today to lose an endorsement and backer for a TV program.
