One thing though (if you haven't already), you could watch and react to all of her music videos in order, because (if you don't know) the music videos tell a story from Melanie's alter ego Cry Baby. Cry Baby (the album) tells about her childhood, K-12 tells about her school experience (hence the film) and PORTALS (which will get a film as well but due to funding it keeps getting postponed) it's the end of the character's Trilogy with her dying and reencarnating

@@toolertotmusicbox OOOOOH I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!! Speaking of Deluxe tracks, Melanie released K-12's deluxe tracks in a format of an EP titled After School. The songs are in line with K-12 but they are more vulnerable and more personal to Melanie. The songs do not appear on the film and they don't make part of Cry baby's story (just like the Deluxe tracks on the other albums) the EP is ENTIRELY about Melanie.
Edit: oh yeah one thing, the K-12 music videos are PART of the film so if you watch them individually you're going to see some cliffhangers at the end
I 100% recommend listening to her songs with headphones on! You can just hear all the layering and details and maybe even be transported to the little world she’s made through her music. PORTALS is such an experience.
Fun fact: in the transition between Tunnel Vision to Faerie Soirée she’s saying “Parida” which means a birthing woman in Portuguese!

Omg this video was such a surprise!!!! I love when people appreciate Melanie’s artistry.. I really thought Tunnel Vision would be your favorite… I definitely would love to watch your reaction to K-12 but I’d recommend you watch the movie instead (yeah, K-12 (The Film)) it will help you appreciate the songs way more than you’d do if you were listening to the tracks only… Also there are 3 deluxe tracks from Portals that are definitely worth listening to, specially cause Milk of the Sirens is a fans favorite 🤩

Melanie has said in interviews that portals is about reincarnation and what happens during the transition between your old life to your new one. She based i think all of the songs off of a book she read about the transition and stuff like that. I think this album is really cool and unique and i love melanie so much for it. Also honorable mention, I think spider web is about internet addiction which I think the lyrics portrayed very well, i loved watching this reaction video and can’t wait for the k-12 reaction ❤

1. This is crybaby's (the character) last album cause this is the album where she dies, like literally, she is dead
2. This album's theme and concept is about the afterlife and the journey and processes of rebirth, thus we are following cry baby's soul moving through the afterlife
3. All the songs on this album talk about the stages of the afterlife and the process of rebirth, thus making a alot of the songs more literal then metaphorical like death and womb

Nymphs are like fairies kinda they embody elements of nature. Like water Nymphs or tree Nymphs etc and they're very objectified because they're all beautiful ladies.

i think nymphology is about men not really seeing women as real. a sprite and a nymph both kinda do the owner's chores/hard work for the owner and are expected to love it and worship the owner (like women are expected to do). she also brings up manic pixie dream girl stereotype who are dehumanized AND sexualized by men and seen as crazy, obsessive, manipulatable
i didnt really get the song either until really sitting with it but yes it is hot girl anthem
oh and i think when she says "its nympology not psychology" shes talking about how men think they know the psychology of women, but in reality everything they think a woman wants is fairy land level delusion, so she labels it as nymphology
