I start with a steak I warm in the microwave to room temp. Then get pan to mid high and add a table spoon of butter add seasoned steak to butter in pan. As soon as the butter brown's flip steak. Once season with honey and salt turn heat down. Remove pan from heated cooking eye. Cover with aluminum foil. Let rest for 8 to 10 minutes. As the steak is resting cook side dish. Remove from pan to plate perfect medium rare.
The secret to making a good steak is to go out and buy a cheap clock at Walmart with a second hand. After awhile you will know exactly how long to cook each side right to the second for a given thickness and heat. I like about 700 degrees on the grill to get a good sear. I want my steak EXACTLY medium rare. That's how you do that. And remember, Heinz 57 will at least help alleviate the bad experience of a poorly or wrongly cooked steak. Best steak out there... Walmart's PRIME grade rib eye. They buy seriously good meat for that one as many people have discovered.
