I'm trying to add mechanical differences to arrow head types in a tabletop game I'm making, and your demonstration has been invaluable in figuring out what I'm actually considering adding in.
Great video. You also demonstrated one theory how archers hurt their shoulders. That being not shooting heavy bows but pulling stubborn arrows.

Very informative video. And timely as well since I am about ready to build some new outdoor arrows. Problem is right now stock is pretty low - on line anyway. I might need to make a trip to a local store. Well done as usual.
I’m really liking bullet points. I’ve got some 100 grain Allens and some 200 grain stainless ones from Ethics. Easy to pull.
Besides the point design, if you are running an outsert, collar, or footer, it will be harder to pull and really hard on bag targets.
Allen Bullets were the only thing available during deer season. Man...I thought I was getting a good deal at Walmart for $3/10.
Really love the mileage you get out of these. Geat shooting with Carbon Express Wolverines.

Personally. I like the bullet points.
Last year I proper robin hooded 14 arrows (not just nock damage, shafts split open) at distances from 20 to 100 yards.
As for shooting a lot. That was the plan with the lockdown, unfortunately the missus keeps finding other jobs for me to do.
I put those NAP bull nose rounded things on my new arrows today. Mostly because they did not have anything else in stock. I shot out to 40 today, just got home and put a dab of shoe goo on the threads to keep them from loosening up. They look pretty dorky but hey they flew good. Working my way out to 60 for this Spot Hogg sight tape. That seems like a mile lol. So this evening is being consumed by watching target flinch videos, and trying to find my most relaxed draw length. Lightened the trigger on B3 Hawk helped too...back at it tomorrow.
I found that giving the arrow a slight twist before pulling makes a huge difference on foam or layered foam targets.
very useful comparison. I often wonder on field courses if pulling the arrows from 3ďs is actually where the exercise lies. putting tjem in is the easy part.
Tried the Allen bullet tips. Sure made my retrieval a lot easier than the other field tips I was using, thanks for the helpful info. I'm an old geezer just getting into archery and I was having a terrible time getting my arrows out of the target The Allen bullet tips makes life a whole lot easier.

Ha, made me laugh. Great video. I watched it because I was wondering which style of FP to buy. I lean toward bullet or combo, but I'm going with the bullet. I shoot a Morrell Yellow Jacket bag style target and find they are the easiest to pull out.

I enjoy long distance target shooting.
I have uncut arrows maximal edge spine 300 (33 inch so 9.7gpi) + 125gn point = 445gn
They fly nicely of 30lbs compound and group in a 5 inch circle.
However, I am a beginner so what do I know!
Initially I was going to cut them to 30 inch to keep the arrows at 425gn.
Should I do it?
I am training myself to get up to 70lbs asap so the arrows spine will suit better.
Any tips?

I just came on from my 1st outdoor session in a t-shirt (Binbrook, Ontario) shooting Easton aluminum shafts with a bullet style point into a Morrell yellow jacket. At the end you mentioned an arrow lube? I have used floor wax so far is there something better?
Not really! I have used everything from bar soap to spray silicone and there's no perfect answer. All work well!
Since I'm an auto detailer... I use the cheapest silicone gel dash dressing as arrow lube. It works well.
Is there any difference to the hole sizes. E.g. do the blunt tips tear more and pointy ones leave a hole that closes up better after arrow is pulled.
Great question. I find actually it's more related to penetration rather than the hole itself. Visualize something like clear ballistics gel. Once a bullet or arrow goes so far for penetration testing, it has now comprised all of that space from the edge of the target to the inside of the gel where it stopped penetrating. If that arrow is now made much shorter, then the compromising isn't as deep and lead to longer target life. I can't actually say this for certain, but anecdotally it's what I've observed shooting over the years.
Are those Morrell High Roller targets more like a block Target or a Rinehart Target?
They are a solid piece of foam. So more like the Rhinehart. Definitely way more durable than a Block.

Do you think that I would have an issue extracting my 20” carbon bolts or do I call you for assistance ?LOL .I have a set of bullnoses only they are fluted point to the rear. You can find with relative ease field points up to 250grains. I'd check eBay. Get over 250 and they start to be specialized orders.

Hey Aja, I have a question I was shooting 46 pounds, now I’m shooting 48. It’s kind of hard to draw.. my question is will I get used to drawing the bow and why is it hard to draw?
Could be poor technique, bad form and you are using the wrong muscles.
Generally if your form is good, the more you shoot the better and stronger you'll get.
A lot of TH-cam archers have really terrible form.
Keep her at 46! No need to beef up will quickly at All. It's just like working out in a gym, it will take time!

200-300 arrows a week? My every time is 120-170 , 3 -4 times a week so about 500-600 weekly
