Aaaah I LOVED this band back in the day. Never boring musically but the real joy is in the lyrics. Heartbreaking in their humour, universal in their specificity. There's always so much to break down and explore. Their sound has changed so much over the years, from the early days of high energy and xylophones and call-and-response vocals, to later when they've expanded into denser and more epic instrumentation. The real sweet spot for me is the third album, Romance Is Boring. The songs are so varied but all so good. And those lyrics! ❤️
Their lyrics are always great! I appreciate how their sound evolved, they managed to make it feel like a natural progression and took me on their journey.
Trey, I never heard this. The song moves at a frantic pace. The musical sound is filled with instruments blending together. The lyrics tell a story in an interesting way, and you are right, there is a play on words. I like the way you break down the meaning of the verses in an accurate way. Yes, we can all understand the ups and downs of life. Interesting song Mikaela.

I'm absolutely overjoyed to see this video. This is the first song of LC!s I ever heard, back in 2014 or something, and even today the opening bars give me such a rush. But no one ever seems to react to my favourite band! So lovely to see someone check them out for the first time.
