Oscar winner Jolie (“Girl, Interrupted,” the “Maleficent” films) stars as Hannah, a smoke jumper still reeling from the loss of three lives she failed to save from a fire when she comes across a traumatized 12-year-old boy with nowhere else to turn.
The film also stars Nicholas Hoult (the “X-Men” films), Finn Little (“Reckoning”), Aiden Gillen (“Game of Thrones,” “Peaky Blinders”), Medina Senghore (“Happy!”), Tyler Perry (“Vice,” “Gone Girl”), Jake Weber (“Midway,” “Homeland”), and Jon Bernthal (“Ford v Ferrari,” “Wind River”).
Oscar nominee Sheridan (“Hell or High Water,” “Wind River”) directed from a screenplay by Michael Koryta and Charles Leavitt and Sheridan, based on the book by Koryta. Steven Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Aaron L. Gilbert, Kevin Turen and Sheridan produced, with Steven Thibault, Ashley Levinson, Andria Spring, Jason Cloth, Richard McConnell, Kathryn Dean, Michael Friedman, Daria Cercek and Celia Khong executive producing.
The director’s behind-the-scenes creative team included his “Wind River” director of photography Ben Richardson, production designer Neil Spisak and costume designer Kari Perkins, and his “Yellowstone” editor Chad Galster and composer Brian Tyler.

@@TheTermin8tar, for me, Maleficent felt forced and overacted. I feel like it’s her weakest performance of her career. There were moments but it felt uneven for me. The scene with the missing wings was the best part of her performance. Plus the movies were pretty bad IMO. I watched them cause someone else dragged me to watch them but I was rolling my eyes quite a bit haha

This film is solid. Started off slow, but 30 minutes into the movie you're at the edge of your seat. Loved the directing, screenplay, acting, and story. It brought me back to the days when they KNEW HOW TO MAKE FILMS. Angelina is as beautiful as ever in this film and she still has those lips my goodness. I love how she brought out the Lara Croft pickaxe. In my opinion, she's a top 5 actress of all time, and keep casting Jon Bernthal. This man doesn't make bad s***. Lara Croft, Madea, The Punisher, and Mayor Carcetti in a film together = magic.

Just watched this. Angelina’s acting skills A+ as always and that little boy has some serious potential his acting is amazing! Although.. very poorly written. My only speculation is that it had to be a film paying homage to forest fires because nothing else made sense. I felt like a massive part of the plot was missing

I like how after leaving the walking dead Jon Bernthal is forever cursed to play the role of law enforcement, military or criminal with very few exceptions.
37 roles since leaving the walking dead and of those 37 only 10 match your stereotyping of him. So that's 27 roles of him being a good husband, a monk, a race car driver. Your comment just says more about you and how you only watch 1 type of movie or TV show but has nothing to do with him as an actor

With this realisation, the firefighter says that it is impossible to feel any self-pity in light of the young man’s tragic example. This proves to be one of the most endearing and comical scenes in the movie and is the turning point in their relationship. It is this scene that should make us all wonder how ineffective self-pity can be in our lives.
Stereotyped for badass roles. Not bad compared to being stereotyped to play cheer leader or awkward nerds.

Went out and saw this movie, it was fricken AWESOME!!!!! Jolie slayed!!! The supporting cast was very well developed and I appreciated that not everything was 'spelled out' we, as the audience, were treated like intelligent individuals. We also got an unexpected hero that wasn't Jolie that I was on the edge of my seat cheering for. It's got a 90s thriller action flair to it which for me was appealing. (Volcano and Twister vibes for those that remember those movies). Is it going to win any awards, probably not, but it's a fun movie that I totally enjoyed.

I have watched it, and my God, i really love it. The acting of every actors is amazing, and the plot is simple at the beginning then get more tension in the middle to the end. Hopefully I can see more of Queen Angelina. She's my most favorite actress. I really love her performances, especially in Changeling.

Tyler Perry's character was the mastermind and yet it just ended with the camera crews setting up, no arrests, and more questions than answers but I'll still watch it again. It was good

The shot at 0:18 looks spectacular, but I'm pretty sure it's fiction. Smokejumpers do of course parachute into burning forests, but from low altitudes. Their parachutes are opened by static line as they leave the plane - if they were to actually freefall like they seem to be doing in that scene, it could cause all kinds of problems, and I can't imagine a situation where it'd make sense for them to do it.
