    I was very excited when I saw your teaser. Not many people incorporate disabilities into their art or in the art doll community. And because I suffer from invisible disabilities, it was so nice to see the full pride flag (not just representation for physical disabilities like usual).

      Thank you! 💖💖 And I very much want to be as inclusive as I can with my dolls. 😊

    I love this so much! I love seeing a doll representing younger people who need/use a cane. I've needed one since age 22 & this is the first disabled doll I've seen with one.

      Thank you! 💖💖 I've known several non-elderly people who've used mobility aids (and since I was in my early 20s, I occasionally need to use crutches myself when I have a bad arthritis flare). I wish that more people realised that they're tools that enable freedom and personal independence.

    Nina is so cute! I love her faceup, haircut, and jumper! Her eyes and lips are very pretty. And her cane is a cute design! I have physical and mental disabilities/illnesses, and while I don't use accessibility tools to walk, I super appreciate this doll! Happy disability pride and channel anniversary!

    This might be one of my favourite dolls repaints of all time as a disabled doll enthusiast this really made my day. She’s a beautiful doll and I love how you’ve customised the wheelchair.

    It's so nice to see more disabled rep in art (especially in the doll community).

    Mad at TH-cam for not showing me this and making me late to the party, but I have to say she's gorgeous, another great doll! The outfit and details are lovely! Having anxiety and depression and having relatives with other disabilities I am so chuffed seeing this, it made my day ^_^

    I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! ❤❤❤ Thank you for making disabled doll😍❤ She is gorgeus!! I love the hairstyle, not often do people give dolls short hair❤

    • @stephoodoll
      @stephoodoll  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! 💖💖 Her hair was a bit tough to work with but I'm super happy with it! Short hair can be really difficult to tame, especially if it's not made of yarn or viscose fibre, so I get why it's not done a lot. 😅

      @@stephoodoll I've done twice short hair for dolls but luckily I used yarn both times😅 Anyways that the hair is awesome, your effort was totally worth it❤❤

    Since when their was a disability pride month ?

    • @stephoodoll
      @stephoodoll  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a link to the Wikipedia article about it in the video description. But it sort of came to be over the years after the Americans with Disabilities Act passed in the US in 1990. The flag was first made in 2019, and later updated in 2021.

    You know, something I learned that I find really interesting is that there is a large amount of people on the spectrum that also identify as trans and especially non-binary! There are many suspected reasons for why, including that gender may just not make as much sense to autistic people, but it’s interesting to think about, as an enby on the spectrum myself.

    • @stephoodoll
      @stephoodoll  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel like I've probably met just about as many binary trans autistics as I do enby ones. So I wonder if it's more just that we just don't get on with the roles other people expect of us if they don't align with who we are? Definitely an interesting thing to think about.

    I don’t think disability pride should be grouped in with lgbtq pride I think they should be separate even tho many times there are intersections

    • @stephoodoll
      @stephoodoll  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LGBTQ+ pride month is in June, and Disability pride month is in July. I did say in the video that I was originally going to make Nina as my June pride doll specifically because disability an intersection that's often overlooked in LGBTQ+ spaces, but I decided to make my trans pride Bun instead for June, and made Nina just for disability pride month (which just happened to be the month after). I hope that makes sense! 💖
