I have seen the “Sweeney Todd” revival twice, and am convinced the sound technicians do not even bother turning on Josh Groban’s mic for the opening line. The applause is just that thunderous and loud, which is one of the best parts of the experience. It really goes to show just how excited everyone is to see this wonderfully weird musical.
100% accurate. we saw it in September. When he pops out of the "grave" at the beginning, the roar of the crowd is deafening.
I flew from Seattle to NY to see this. There was no way I would miss seeing Josh Groban on Broadway. I missed him the first time, and was not going to do a repeat. What a treat!!! The show was wonderful, funny, surprising. All the performers were prime examples of live theater at its best. If you haven't been to a show yet - go.

Hearing his voice in person isn’t anything like hearing it recorded. It’s amazing how rich it is live! I was a fan of his before seeing Sweeney, but OMG after hearing him sing in that performance I’m obsessed with his music now!
Saw Sweeney in September and Josh is absolutely where he should be...on Broadway. He's brilliant as Sweeney.
I heard him sing on the Oprah Show. I was in the audience. I'll never forget it! Then, I heard him in my backyard!! I live close to a concert venue in CA and I could hear him! It was shortly after I had moved here. I felt I really was home when I heard his voice!!

Everyone forgets that this isn’t Josh Groban’s first time on Broadway 😭 He played Pierre in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812! It’s honestly such a good show that got overshadowed by dear Evan Hansen and Josh absolutely kills it!

You Raise Me Up is my favorite song (he didn't write it but his is my favorite version). And I worked security at a concert of his, and he seems like a really nice person (I didn't meet him, but I mean from hearing him talk on stage) and of course is one of the best singers in the world.
This mans voice is so unique, everytime i hear him talk, his voice and personality is that of a puppy dog, and when he sings in his lower tamber, he a whole diffrent character, its always outstanding

No Sweeney Todd I've ever seen has sported a beard. I suspect they did it to make him look older. Even though he is the right age for the character... he still reads much younger.

Josh was the one initiated the revival of ST, and since he has a beard already they let him keep it. For Good Cop they did insist he go clean shaven though,which I so appreciated!

I love Josh Groban! His music has gotten me through a lot of difficult times in my life. I went to his Phoenix concert in 2013 when he did his In the Round tour. And he sounds better LIVE! His voice is magnificent! I have several videos of that concert on my other channel, the official Andy Saenz.

I have seen productions of this show all the way back to Len Cariou, George Hearn & Angela Lansbury. Was not expecting to like this much. Hey were absolutely amazing & blew me away. Saw this show, Merrily we Roll along & a bunch of other shows. This tied with Merrily to make the trip super enjoyable!

While I get why a lot of people don't like Jimmy as an interviewer because he accidentally interrupts sometimes, I appreciated how he asked about the opening line because he'd actually been to the show.
