Many christians today share the view of the Sadducees. They don't really believe in the promise of eternal life, but believe that if they live righteously (which, in their view, means following the teachings and contributing to the prosperity of their church), they will receive whatever they desire in this life. I was shocked when a woman in one church I went to told me in private that she didn't believe in eternal life nor wanted it.
Many thanks, this is so timely. Matthew Chapter 7, verse 15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves.
John, you feeling ok? Looking rough brother. I started following you guys right out of the gate and you certainly helped change my life. I certainly appreciate your teachings and look forward to your teachings. I pray you are ok. Shalom
It's not only the prosperity gospel teachers that preach "living now." There's a cult out of Edmond, OK that encourages their members to continue to give to the "church" in order to live abundant lives, citing John 10:10. Yet, it's the only their pastor and top ministers who live abundant lives while their membership struggles daily.
Oh, I've been in churches like that. Not that their leadership lived sumptuously, but when the church needed more money they would try to shame the poor of the church into donating more money by cutting back on living expenses (e.g., groceries). Of course, they used Mark 12:41-44 and Luke 21:1-4 to justify doing so. However, they read into (add to) those passages a different message than is actually expressed. Yahshua wasn't commending the poor widow for contributing everything she had to live on, but simply pointing out the disparity wherein the wealthy, by comparison, were contributing very little without it affecting their livelihood. The scriptures teach charity toward the poor (Leviticus 23:22; Exodus 23:10-11; Psalm 112:1, 9; Proverbs 29:7; Luke 14:12-14; Luke 18:22; Luke 19:8; Romans 15:25-27; Galatians 2:9-10; 2 Corinthians 9:6-9) and condemn those who oppress the poor (Amos 2:6-7; Amos 8:4-7; Job 24:4, 9-10,13; Proverbs 22:22-23; Isaiah 3:14-15; Ezekiel 18:10-13; Zechariah 7:8-12; James 2:1-10).
Cleaving to Him does make our lives better NOW, but not in the way mr. O thinks. We are given the peace that passes understanding... it passes understanding because we have a peace DESPITE our current lives, not because of them. We have peace even through hardships. How else could a man write "It is Well With My Soul" while passing the spot his family tragically died? Think of Peter praising Yah as he was crucified upside down... THAT
People should ask the refund of the book as Pr. JM said with Joel Osteen. We should pray for this possessed man and his wife...May our Lord Jesus have mercy for the believers who are chained to such demonic preaching...
I don't think Joel Olsteen is possessed or an evil man, I'm a nurse and I notice Joel appears to have a form of autism his eyes are constantly blinking he does not look directly at the camera or his congregation and his wife is on stage with him to help him, I think he does the best he can considering his condition. My little grandson has the same condition and he also blinks his eyes excessively and will not make direct eye contact with anyone, not even me. Perhaps we can pray for Joel Olsteen and everyone who has the condition. God bless.
Thank you

💯% agree. For us that love our Messiah it’s about “not in this life” but the next with Him.

You need to reduce the intro volume a little relative to that of the rest of the video.

False gospel from prosperity Gospel shepherd. Blinded by earthly pleasure and earthly wealth 🤦🏻♂️
