with no experience, I was able to put this table together in under one hour with this video. I drilled the brackets with a manual screw driver, which was easy. Thank you for this video.
This is nut, I saw your comment and tried, you just need to start with back and forth motion to dig a tiny hole and then you can screw right through. Lot easier than you think
Fantastic video! You are a natural teacher. I loved the way you tossed out the directions. That’s confidence! You made my job so much easier, I am very grateful.
First saw your videos through the Malm bed assembly one, and looking at this one to decided if I want to buy this one. Much easier as well than reading a manual I think. Thanks so much for your videos.
Thanks for the video, I was thinking about purchasing this desk but it only showed one photo. Now seeing your video, it looks like it will be perfect, thanks!
Thank you for the guide. I bought two "Bekant" office tables myself, but the curved version. The assembly is pretty much the same, but you have 1 extra part for the metal frame. What I don't understand is why Ikea is using the plastic bolts to mount the tabletop to the metal frame. It doesn't seem like it will be easy to get those out, if you for some reason are moving to another house / apartment and need to put the table apart. .
I got the bekant frame from the "as is" section of the store. So, it was already built. Im going to put a lagkapten table top on it instead. This video was helpful to figure out how long the nails need to be since it'll be a "project" im doing midway.
Excellent assembly vid! Quick question: when u adjust the leg height do you jus eyeball it to be even on both legs? Or is there some kind of notches in there to guide you?? This is the only concern I have before buying, thank you.
Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone had to disassemble this table before , but im wondering at 5:44 is it easy to remove those screws and put them back in after you have done so? I'm trying to get the table out of my room and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to remove those screws to do so. So I was wondering if i could separate the wood part of the table in order to make it easier to get it out of the room.
Thanks so much for this video! It has helped me setup my own bekant desk which is the larger one available 63 x ? Forget. Anyways all the steps are the same and i had very little trouble setting up. Thanks again!
Thanks a lot, your video really helped me assemble this desk super fast. I plugged in the 6 smaller grey plastic screws for the cable management net without attaching the cable management net. Is there a way to still attach the cable management net?
Heyy, nice video! Can you please tell me if I can put GERTON tabletop onto it? Is it stable enough to support a little bit bigger tabletop? And does it wobble back and forth if you lean onto it? Thanks!
I just bought this desk, its coming in a week. At 6:45 do I have to do this part? How hard is it to screw in those holes? I don't have a drill. Also at 8:30 is there an indicator on the height adjustment? Or do I just "eyeball" it? I hope I don't make it uneven :(
Hi I just did the set up and it took about 2 hours (with me stopping ever so often lol) 1) I used a drill but the screws ur talking about are kinda short so u might not need one 2) you are eye balling it BUT like he said use a measuring tape and you should be fine
nice desk, got one, but one issue. If you ever need to disassemble and re-assemble (for example moving to another house), the plastic rivets that go in the desk will not hold quite as well the second time. This is bec when you remove them they take some of the material (recycled particle board) out of the holes. Can be solved by some duct tape. But better if Ikea put some plastic inserts into the particle board, would have solved issue.
i would like to know this too. including how high it is to the bottom of the metal support (or the size of the frame so i can work out leg room underneath
The feet on mine were more than a little crooked. Ikea's manual says to adjust using the two screws on the bottom, the problem is they can only wiggle either direction a couple of millimetres and as soon as you tighten them it pulls back crooked. I don't believe I'll ever buy furniture again from a company that after so many years still don't understand basic physics.
The Bekant I have is 160x80 and has a double metal bar brace running the whole length of the middle underside. I noticed the one in the video hasn't this, but instead an extra cross brace at each end.
I put mine together a few weeks ago but now the table itself is wobbeling alot i think the screw (the smaller tick one) from the steel frame to the legs isnt close enough but with all the plugs I cant get there anymore or can I ? is there any secure way to do that ?
I am not familiar with assembly of Ikea furniture. Can anyone of you share your expertise and tell me if this Bekant underframe go with Idasen Table Top? Tia.
My brother gave me this desk with a plastic bag full of hardware and no instructions to assemble. God bless instructional videos on TH-cam. This is a white pill for all the things wrong with the internet. People helping people!
I don't know if you are still on the hunt for a desk. But I wouldn't suggest this one. Bought mine a week ago, and due to the frame not covering the entire bottom of the desk. There is 17cm on both sides of the frame that is unsupported. It's really wobbly for me. Just typing makes my monitor shake. And due to the corona virus I can't return it...
@@svenstap7387 you always have 365 days to return it back, it even says on the IKEA website its their policy worldwide, so corona or not doesnt matter...
does your desk wobble/creak/squeak/move when you try to game with fast mouse flick OR dwhen you shake the table top with your hands ? please comment bcoz i wanan buy this desk
Thank you so much! I was stuck with the self-drilling screws. It showed a screwdriver. That would be next to impossible to install with those without any pre-drilled holes in the tabletop. I really appreciate your video!
Everyone making these Ikea assembly videos is doing God's work! Thanks so much for this.
i dont even have this desk i just had nothing else to do

I disagree... his thick accent is distracting. He can't pronounce his THs and he keeps saying "gonna" instead of "going to".

Don't know the IKEA guide implies you can pry them out with a flathead screw driver.
Thanks!! Assembled desk by myself with this

You can pry out the pegs and remove the hollow bolts and do it over. It shows this right at the back of the instructions.

How stable is that table? Reviews of the motorised sit/stand Bekant all describe it as highly unstable - especially at full height, of course.

Oh thanks for the heads up. It’s a good looking desk but the leg design looked unstable. You can’t go wrong with four legs.
