Pink Floyd is my absolute favorite band and I listen to at least one of their songs every single day. I always feel better after listening to them and I'm so glad you like their music, too. It's impossible for me to pick a favorite but Sorrow from the Pulse concert and Echoes are two I really love. Peace 💜
Y'all picked my favorite performance of this song. Pink Floyd is one of the very few bands that as great live as in studio. David is The Master of the Stratocaster(guitar). He can swing an ax so sweetly.
it is true... watching David... is a mesmerizing experience... all can sit and enjoy the talent... but with pink floyd, the messages is never lost.... nothing is just for enjoyment... but for thought, and ponder on this existence
As you guys know, Pink Floyd is Legendary! No other band does what Pink Floyd does, they are in a class all their own! They use the same instruments as other bands,... but their sound is sooo unique!
My favourite pink floyd song.i love every tune they have done but this is just amazing.i told my wife If I go before her this is 1 of the tunes that I want played at my funeral but hopefully that is yrs away yet.
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know.
Gratefulness is the secret to happiness thanks Pink Floyd for the subliminal messages and the double negative! High school not drunk school thank you Jesus they spelled it that way!
Syd Barrett, founder of the band listened to an album in the late 60s' by two old black blues musicians from North Carolina. They were PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council. Pink Floyd, the cerebral band of rock!
@@abreactionsthenewtrend2677 That's it! Although Barrett was completely taken aback by those two older gentlemen from North Carolina he never got to actually meet them. Syd kind of burned out his brain on hallucinogens (probably LSD) in the late 60s' and became a walking vegetable platter! He could no longer function. That is when David Gilmour was brought into the band to cover Syds' parts. The band never formally fired Syd, they just stoped picking him up for gigs! Seems like kind of a low thing for them to do, after all, it WAS Syds' band and the others were just in it for extra money while they attended the University. To their credit, after they hit REALLY BIG with: "Dark Side Of The Moon" they sent monthly checks to Syd for the rest of his life. Well done there, don't you think? I really think it is super cool that younger people are still finding Pink Floyd! Incredibly unique band! Sometimes referred to as the cerebral band of rock.
Shine on you crazy diamond from the Pulse Concert is to die for.. What you will learn along the way is Pink Floyd intros are usually pretty long to put you in the mood they want you to be in..
@@abreactionsthenewtrend2677 You're welcome. Listening to Pink Floyd while driving has worked really well for keeping the stress at bay, especially in horrible traffic.
For those who do not know where the name “Pink Floyd” came from…… Syd Barrett - original founder of the band had two favorite Blues Guitar Players in his record collection, two black men, “Pink Anderson and Floyd Council”. One came from North Carolina, (Pink) the other came from South Carolina, (Floyd).
I don't want to start a fight, but I think that even though Pulse has a better visual elements and production quality, The Delicate Sound of Thunder is a musically superior live performance. Don't get me wrong: Pulse is still great. It's like the difference between 9/10 and 10/10. Anyway, I know there are others who may be committed to Pulse as a better musical performance, but I have no quarrel with them; we'd agree that Pink Floyd is still a brilliant band--live and in the studio! Thank you for reacting to another song from them!
I agree 100% I also seen them live on both tours as the same venue. Oakland Stadium '89 and '94. '89 had a better touring band. The backup singers were amazing, and the Sax player was great. Dave's playing and singing were better than ever. The Pulse Tour had the best production hands down.
I think some Pulse versions are better , Comfortably Numb, Sorrow, Shine On, and I like the entire Playthrough of DSotM. But DSoT is a wonderful listen.
Told you guys that this was a amazing song the lyrics and guitar I have another one for you if your looking for pure skill you need to look at pink Floyd song called dogs or pink Floyd pigs them 2 songs are truly high quality but they are very long songs
I remember seeing this live on this very tour! One of my favorites for sure. I also love Time. Watch the love version from this same tour! Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/D7aNWqf3dyo/w-d-xo.html
