  • Best with HEADPHONES the sound is not too loud on this video.
This video is meant to draw attention to silent invisible diseases that strike many people around the world. We specifically focus on fibromyalgia but the idea is to help those who suffer in silence find their voice.
This video is only a Placebo Effect temporary cure for symptoms but is a step towards helping science discover they it helps. Allow your mind to be distracted and enjoy all the awesome ASMR effects and triggers.
Fibromyalgia is one of the most common chronic pain conditions. The disorder affects an estimated 10 million people in the U.S. and an estimated 3-6% of the world population. While it is most prevalent in women -75-90 percent of the people who have FM are women -it also occurs in men and children of all ethnic groups. The disorder is often seen in families, among siblings or mothers and their children. The diagnosis is usually made between the ages of 20 to 50 years, but the incidence rises with age so that by age 80, approximately 8% of adults meet the American College of Rheumatology classification of fibromyalgia.

Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a term used for an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia. ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterised by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific acoustic, visual and digital media stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attentional control.

Coming from someone with two "invisible" diseases because they affect me internally you are right on how asmr helps your mind escape the symptoms sometimes. One of the coolest backgrounds I've seen too Dr. Michael's.

And from the fibromyalgia community - we thank you doc for your own person research, taking the time to talk to doctors yourself about it on your own time, and for reminding us that help is on the way (I cried when you said that - it was so heart touching), and for letting us know there is a seat at the table. Cos we don't feel part of the table too often. Your a treasure to us fibro warriors and I commend you for all you do ✌🌱😊

I had been diagnosed fibromyalgia since I was 15. I had been losing sleep my back felt like it was collapsing on its self and soon became depressed and desperate. So desperate I started watching hypnosis videos (don't judge me) but most hypnosis videos had poor audio quality so I had to resort to recommendation videos and found an asmr vid from Ephemerl Rift and got hooked. Four years later, I do still get discomfort and migraines but I can still rely on a twenty minute video to knock me out.

My mother has fibromyalgia. I showed her this video, and even though she's 70 years old, she's expressed an interest in getting to learn how to use TH-cam on her phone enough so that she can watch some more of your work, which I'm happy to hear as I think my mom will benefit from ASMR in general, but especially your content as she's a sci-fi fan! Thank you so much for this. ❤️

Wonderful video 💜. As a fibromyalgia sufferer myself, I can honestly say it was my illness that led me to ASMR. Listening to ASMR helped distract me from the pain and helped relax me enough to aid much needed sleep. I just couldn’t sleep despite having chronic fatigue, but ASMR really improved it. I’ve never really gone public with this before, but I think you highlighting such hidden illnesses makes us think about sharing our experiences more. Thank you. 💜

    • @TirarADeguello

This is something we all really need to research. There is definitely a pain relief benefit to chronic pain sufferers who use ASMR as a distraction device. If we can find the neural connections to this effect, a cure might be possible?

    • @PerceptionASMR
      @PerceptionASMR 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@TirarADeguello yup. Hits the nail on the head there! Even if we don't go as far as a cure, pain relief has massive benefit, there have been some nights where I've struggled to sleep with aches and pains and codeine painkillers haven't done much. Yet, a good ASMR video has sent me off to sleep. If I can get my binaural set up properly, I think a gentle, ear to ear sounds video, with gradually building up layers, could be an ASMR 'painkiller'. And no nasty side effects 😁😁

Thank you Tirar. It means a lot to me that you'd shine some light on such a controversial condition. A good half dozen people if not more across my whole family have fibro, myself included. I had to wait from age twelve until I was eighteen before I could get a proper diagnosis and begin treatment. It means so much that one of my favorite ASMRtists not only knows it but wants to help how he can. ASMR has helped me sleep through many sleepless nights for over five years. Thank you again, I'll enjoy this video now and for a long while in the future.

I think that I suffer from fibromyalgia. All I know is that there is no bed that's soft enough to sustain my weight. (Aside: I'm listening to the end of your video as I write this). 'Sleep!' Yes, I can hear you. I find your 40 Hz tone to be incredibly soothing, Just now, I'm feeling relaxed, calm, and I'm not in pain. Geek note: I'm listening with Bose 301s.
May I share something with your viewers? In my endless search to find relief, I've discovered something that helps me. My mom crochets. I have a blanket that she made. I wrap it around my torso and neck as I go to bed, as if it were a giant stole and lie on an elevated pillow. As I come to in the morning, I can lie in bed and get a bit of extra shut eye. This isn't a perfect solution, but it's the best that I've found, so far.
    Kudos...

I've been re watching this over and over a few times at different points in the day... And just re watched it and gotta say you managed to bring me to tears but for the good reasons.. I have Essential Tremor and I got diagnosed with it five years ago when I was 18 I can deal with it when I'm on my own but if I'm out and I have a really bad attack my mind turns on myself and I get so embarrassed because I can't speak properly and I start to stutter my words, I'm so embarrassed by it and because I'm in the limelight being in a band and so much is expected of you, I have to hide after a show because everyone wants to talk to you and I just can't do it.. I need 20 mins to myself with no one around me and then if it stops I'll come and say hi even if I'm in agony because that's the kinda person I am 💕

Don't give up on yourself, and I'm sure talking about it helps a lot? Keep finding your voice, ask for help, work with others, and try to do things that help ease the stress? I think you are amazing working on stage in a band and you must keep doing that. What talent?

@@TirarADeguello I'm not very good and not stressing out and finding things to relax are extremely difficult but your videos are the only thing that helps me relax and having a calming effect on me, especially when you have the low hum underneath that has a good amazing effect for me to relax. I'm a drummer and played all over the UK, I have a great reputation which is why I don't like to disappoint fans. Also fighting with my legs right now they believe I have MS.

Even after 2 yrs I still come back to you and this video. Ending up with more illnesses but re reading your words put a smile on my face. I still thank you so much for everything you do and how you've grown. I'm still out in a band but also studying Neuroscience and how I can help people. Thank you Tirar!
