Thanks for the cost breakdown, it's super helpful! I was planning on getting to cats but after seeing the costs, I realized that I am better starting with one.
That is a lot of money to own a cat there. The money i spent the most is their food, my two cats eat a lot.Enjoy watching the two curious cats walking out
how does the the 20lb litter last you so long? i recently got 2 kittens, who are now 4 months old and I change out their litter ( not scoop, but throw out the old and replace it with new litter) every 10 days. That's in addition to scooping their litter boxes daily. I keep a total of 3 litter boxes for the 2 of them. Also I end up spending so much on food cuz they're on wet food ( I spend about $150 a month for a months worth of wet food for the 2 kittens).Ofcourse, I continue to spend whatever it takes to meet their needs and keep them comfortable and happy- but I was hoping there would be a way to make it more budget friendly :( P.S: I got slammed with vet bills too! So have now got lemonade insurance. There's this youtube channel called all about cats that did an extensive video on pet insurance- it helped me decide which pet insurance to go with.
We use the clumping cat litter and we we’re told to change that once a month (we also scoop the litter boxes daily). We also have two litter boxes total. When they were 4-6 months, we ended up transitioning them from wet to dry food (this helped a ton with overall costs). I would ask your vet what dry food they recommend; our cats were allergic to the first dry food we had so we switched to a special diet that the vet recommended. The special diet dry food is a lot more expensive than regular food but overall still less expensive than wet food!
@@LifeWithVinceLuu Thank you for responding. I use clumping clay litter too, so maybe ill see if i can get away with changing it every month or at least every 3 weeks. They told me to have 3 litter boxes for the 2 kittens- they said to have one more litter box than the total number of cats in the house. Yeah im thinking about slowly transitioning them to dry food once they hit 6 months too.
Adorable. You could consider the wood pellets cat litter. It cuts down odors a lot more than other types of cat litter in my opinion. Also did your vet recommend a dry food only diet for them? If so, that is odd since cats by nature eat the entire animal that they hunt. Plus I think I read that a dry only diet can lead to e.g. kidney issues. Leash training is soooo challenging but so nice when it starts to work. Thanks for the video!
Wow, those costs really add up. You would think that when they do the culture they would test for more than one thing rather than have you come back over and over. I'd be looking for a new vet.
how old were your kittens when you adopted them? I was thinking bout adopting a 4-5 month old kitten so any preexisting conditions might be more predictable cost-wise
Waffles was 4-6 weeks old when we got him. We ended up getting him from a friend's litter with no shots, etc. We ended up getting Olive from a shelter when she was around 4 months! If you adopt from a shelter, they'll have a lot of the shots, etc. Adopting from a shelter is definitely cheaper overall!
Well then, cats are pricy like dogs LOL! Thank you for letting people who are curious or wanting to know more about adopting/purchasing a cat Vince. I can tell you and your girlfriend love your cats🐈⬛🐈!
I cant where I live, there is a brutal fox that killed my last kitten 😭😭 but I do agree of you live out in the country, outdoor cats are a great option and they live a happy life as long as you still provide them with food and shelter :) And spay or neuter them 100% no option on that haha
Hey, thanks for the video. Great to break things down. I am a new cat owner and am feeling the cost. I hope your cat healed up alright. If not, I just heard the cat guy Jaxon Galaxy mention a potential cause of chin acne in cats, I think he said it was plastic bowls, but he mentions it in this video about fountains, th-cam.com/video/Le5Bviq8xZU/w-d-xo.html.

It's definitely something to think about! I didn't think they would cost so much!
Thank you so much for this video. I've always wanted cats but this really showed the hidden costs and what I'll be in for
Definitely a little pricy though well worth it!
I might get another outdoor cat! *They take care of themselves.* all of mine were around for several years before they suddenly disappeared.
#1, thanks for your honesty. #2, did you ever consider getting cat insurance? If so, does it help? #3, Is flea treatment required?
"Tender loving care" love that lol

Appreciate the support, Yong! Our cat food is getting a little pricey too since they're on a special diet! Haha!
I shared this video with my friend who is planning to get a cat next week.
Appreciate the support! Definitely a bit costly though worth it!
This is so helpful thank you!
Thank you!

Ok I guess I’ll get a gold fish.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 considering that too now...

$400 is the fee to adopt a cat alone here in the Philippines 😭 doesn’t include shots, checkups, etc.
Why is it so expensive?! 😭
It's very worth it though in my opinion. It's hard to put a price tag on the love that comes from my cats!
U can adopt one for free like what my friend did, she go her's from Facebook Marketplace for free
@@tpctpc1010 We adopted one of our cats for free from a friend though we had to get him shots, etc!
Are they indoor or outdoor cats?
They are indoor cats!
WOW, that's not in my budgt. I was thinking of adopting a cat tomorrow, but I'm not going to.
It can get really expensive; we had to take Waffles in for a teeth cleaning recently and it was around $900 :(

Do u earn money from utube
Istg nobody tells u the full picture till u actually adopt a cat
I want a cat so bad but I dont have the money to care for it
Awe they're so cute
What's the return policy? As in to send the cat back to the rescue center?
Lmao 🤣
Love it when people try to show they are smart by putting books in the background, and then they put Elon Musk and Tony Robbins.
Poggers
I'm not sure what that means! Haha!
@@LifeWithVinceLuu just wanted to say the video was helpful, poggers usually means “cool” 😂
@@rodithink HAHA! I had no idea. I'll have to start using that! Poggers!
@@LifeWithVinceLuu you really didn't know that bro?
