The power on sound effect for the voice changer in Scream 5 sounds cool in the hospital scene. Wish the real one sounds like that when it's switched on. I'm waiting on the current model voice changer to arrive in the mail. Cool looking prop to have imo.
It was recently brought to my attention that Mickey actually used the voice changer similar to the way the new killers did. Right before his reveal… his voice changes in and out. But the light was neat. I’ll give them that.
Also, you’re not lying when you say they are cheap as dirt! I bought one like 10 years ago off eBay and I only spent like 3 bucks. Now, they’re all like 30 40 plus. It looked like the first one you showed. Awesome video Nate!
@@matthewwisdom9933 the voice changers in the films are used strictly as a hand prop. The actual voice you are hearing when Ghostface is talking is voice actor Roger Jackson.
I got my Scream 1 voice changer around the same time you did I think. I found mine in the "Things You Never Knew Existed!" catalog that used to come to our house every month, haha. They had the "Scream Slasher" costume in those catalogs as well.
The foam on the back (double sided tape) I'm 99% sure is intended to stick to the mic end of an old rotary style phone. So... knowing that, if you were to talk into it you would be holding the handle of the phone which looks like ( with one end against your ear and your mouth would be talking ACROSS the surface of the voice changer. You wouldn't be talking front on into it, because you'd be holding the phone against the side of your head. So... I tried holding the voice changer sideways. It does seem to improve the way the Ps and Ss sound. But there's still no way to sound like Roger unless you can do an impression.
I wonder if there's enough room in the shell of the voice changer to connect a mini-Bluetooth speaker? That would allow for clips of Roger Jackson to be played through the changer for the full effect.

my question is how did they create the voice for scary movie's ghostface because that does sound like a voice modulator but i can't find any information about it
Why hasn't anyone made a voice changer with Rogers voice lines built into the voice changer or maybe a way you can link your phone to it to say certain words!
That's what I always thought watching the original when in person and they using it I'm like it sounds like them but voices kind of buzzed lol but you can tell its them not roger lol. Only point that was close was when billy was yelling through the voice changer almost sounded like Roger lol but still not same as on the phone lol. I'm using the same new voicechanger for my scream 2022 costume. What i've done is a throat microphone with the voicechanger attached on the side with straps. So it has the same neck illusion,but looks realistic practical.
You'd have to use some ridiculous high tech program with Roger Jackson's voice just to come close, and that kind of program probably doesn't even exist yet or isn't advanced enough to work properly.
The AI technologist to replicate someone’s voice is insanely impressive now, wouldn’t be surprised if at some point soon someone could make a hand held voice changer that could do it in real time, (I believe the program that does it right now is something you add on to pre-recorded audio of your voice)💯

Mickey hid the voice changer in the chin of the mask which is what I thought the new killers did but they had it in the neck of the costume

a lit of people use their normal voice so it doesn't work, you have to use a whisper voice and try to sound like him

A real good one kind of works but you have to be able to do the voice & it's hard to do. It took me months to get it right ha.
