I bought one this year as a fourth car and it is such a bargain and joy to drive every time. People mindlessly drop 100k on an suv or new sedan. The e90 will be desirable indefinitely
The N54 gets a bad rep for reliability to keeping a lot of people away from them. Just means more options for me🤷🏾♂️ If you can save to buy the car you should definitely be able to save up an extra $3k-4k for maintenance/parts. If you have a decent set of tools you could probably save up less, buy a new FMIC, metal charge pipe, CFS radiator, 1 or 2 step colder spark plugs, water pump, coolant hoses, serpentine belt guide, and a new aluminum valve cover with a metal pvc...you've bought about 85% of the common failure parts. With a free weekend and couple of TH-cam videos you can replace all of these parts on your own
Love the seats. Definitely thinking of doing the same in my e90, granted I would likely just do the drivers seat. What is the rough cost (seats, plus brackets/all mounting hardware)? Also, what needs to be done to eliminate codes and things of that nature?
Can anyone give me an accurate quote/estimate on how much the overall cost (including parts + labor) would be to do the rod bearings and throttle actuator on an E9X M3? Just trying to get an idea of how much I should have set on the side in the event I need to tackle these items.
Rod Bearings when I did them cost $2,100 total with parts and labor. This included rod bearings, rod bolts, oil change, motor mounts (which i suggest doing since the subframe is usually dropped so you should just get them replaced at the same time while it's off). This was also done at a CA shop. Throttle actuator I am not sure how much that would cost at a shop to do it but it's an easy job to do at home. I bought the Throttle actuator from FCP Euro (which is lifetime warranty so if it does go out again, it's free replacement less shipping. The part itself cost approx $450-$600 per side, which i would suggest replacing both sides. I just hit 260k miles 2 days ago and still running strong!

It is the best enthusiast car in its price range
I currently have an e92 335i looking to get an e90 or e92 m3 soon
I daily a e46 m3 , from a 128i , the 128 was definetly a little more comfortable
I’d drive an m car everyday if I could afford to lol but being a tech and my wife a therapist we drive a Silverado and an e46 lol
E46 is one of my favorite bmws
What kinda tech ?
I recently bought an E92 M3 DCT an it's the best decision I've ever made, That downshifts is a pantie dropper lol hahaha

To eliminate the codes you need to get air bag simulators for it, but for just one seat I’d your getting a spg look to spend about 2000$ said and done
is the 135i reliable ? and easy to work on if you not a mechanic ?
what kind of exhaust or setup you have your yours m3 bro?
Dream build: s65 in a e23 or e24
