    Ooo this is interesting. I live maybe 50-80 feet away from a major highway, so I can literally see it from the window in my home studio. It's never really been a problem per se, even when recording vocals (compared to central air), the only issue is when its rush hour or when people are honking. That being said, it would be nice to reduce the noise.

    I've been using two box fans over summer and white noise and a air conditioner in my room. I live near two busy roads and deal with neighbors and their power tools or mowers. This is such a life saver. I don't hear w thing outside anymore. Unless I take my dog out otherwise its not an every waking moment thing issue anymore for me. Box fans are pretty affordable. After not getting a call back after 2 tries, we are going to do the plexiglass ourselves. They finally called, after publicly shaming them for not returning our calls and said it would take 4 months. Really? Never mind! They also only offer 1/4 inch, which will not work as well as a 3/8. You would think they would offer a variety of widths. It would have cost $1800 vs $400 to $600 to do it ourselves.

    Great video! I’m trying to find out how effective Indow window inserts are at keeping out the sub bass. We have a loud neighbor with an insane outdoor sound system with sub. As you know, those low frequencies go through everything, including walls. Have you been able to test that (or could you) by having a loud car system perhaps parked in your driveway playing rap or pop/edm? I realize these things I’ll do wonders though for those who on,y want to diminish stuff going do to around 200 hz.

    • @adamivy

    The sides should have a locking mechanism in the rubbery tubes that when it centers after you push it , it should lock .

    Thank you for the demonstration, enjoyed the video! Have you tried to compare the noise reduction performance of the Indow insert with a triple panes window, apart from cost impact? We are researching best solutions, we have similar situation as yours. I am having a dual panes but still hear whenever cars passing by the road outside the window. Thank you!

    Two major cons: first, it is very expensive and not affordable. Second, if you want to use a window insert, you must remove your window blinds. Not a practical solution for many people.

    • @dresheraton9276
      @dresheraton9276 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Window blinds can be set outside of the window parameters a simple solution. Obviously the blinds on the inner dimensions look better. You just need to decide what is more important silence or blinds sitting on the inner dimensions. I rather the silence. I think it's important to you or you wouldn't be here in the first place.
