The Fifth Season! Seriously one of my top books/trilogies of all times. Her delicacy and finesse with writing about deep, complex topics you can explore at all different depths of meaning is *chef's kiss*.
great vid! I never played d&d but I'm so sure I would love it so I'm definetly going to read some of these. and also, do you have any recommendation for like "witchy" fantasy books? don't know exactly how to explain it but I love the image, the "aesthetic" of natural witches roaming in the fields, grabin herbs, making stuff, apothecary style. any recs? :)
I'm so surprised the iron druid chronicles didn't get mentioned. If you haven't read them, I HIGHLY suggest it. They are such amazing books. Definitely high fantasy modern type setting. And druids. The best class in dnd. But has so much more.
I love The Legend of Drizz't series written by R.A. Salvatore. I think the series is about 40 books by now, but Drizz't Dourden is an amazing character and the Forgotten Realms world is, in my opinion is Dungeons and Dragon's best world. I prefer the more classic fantasy series, but I do love Brandon Sanderson! Great video!
I'm sure you have encountered this problem too but one of the biggest hurdles I find in fantasy and scifi books is sexism. Like. I am trying to enjoy a story about a different world and a different time, and bringing sexism into it really just kills it for me. I have returned so many books to the library because I'll be one chapter in and nope out. On top of that, it is so hard to find newer releases that aren't about teenagers TT___TT can we get some adults in here please I can't handle another book trying to be The Hunger Games
