Robbie is an absolute British institution. A man of pure love and vulnerability. We love him

Loved your reaction! Robbie is a born entertainer; he can capture a crowd like no other. To give a bit of info on him:
He‘s from a city called Stoke-on-Trent in England and auditioned for a boy band called „Take That“ when he was barely 16; then was part of that boy band from 1990-1995. Take That became absolutely huge during these years. He left Take That and started a solo career that went astronomical with the release of „Angels“ in 1997/98. Since then, he has released many albums, won awards, broken many records and has battled his inner demons.
Just a few months ago, a four-part documentary about him was released on Netflix where he sits down, watches old footage of himself and comments on his life. With that, he has been very open and outspoken about his long love-hate relationship with being a celebrity and his struggles with addictions and mental illness. It‘s a truly raw, honest tale of what immense fame at such a young age does to you and I can wholeheartedly recommend anyone to watch it.
The amazing thing about Robbie is that he came out the other end. He got his life together, married, and now has four kids and seems genuinely happy. To me, it‘s inspiring. He‘s almost 50 now, but is still going strong singing, touring and entertaining.
Funnily enough, despite being an absolute huge star in so many countries, he‘s barely known in the USA. And that‘s mostly because Robbie himself stopped trying to „break“ America in the early 2000s, when he realised it was one of the few places where he could be anonymous and at the time, the media attention was weighing down on him heavily (especially UK press back then was ruthless). So he stopped releasing his records in America and has mostly been living in LA since.
Now how was that for an info dump! I really hope you go on to do more reactions to Robbie‘s work (especially live performances). Not only does he do genuinely good music, but the man‘s simply a joy to watch perform. Pretty much every song from the concert that the performance in this video is from (Knebworth 2003) is a recommendation, it‘s peak entertainment.

In the UK and Europe a super star , but not in the USA . He writes the songs and a great showman, very talented. Multi talented and we in the UK is a national treasure. What you don’t know Taylor Swift sang Angels with him in London.

Jane H commenting ….. We love Robbie on the other side of the world, too …. Here in New Zealand, & they love him in Australia too. I was living in England when Robbie was in Take That, & all the stuff going on when he quit, & when Angels came out & was a Hit for him, I was so happy, because he deserved that.He is a great singer/songwriter & entertainer. Love watching him in concert.

This is not my genre of music, generally. I am a huge Pink Floyd fan since I was like 12 (almost 50 now, same age as Robbie). But this concert of his completely blew me away 20 years ago and he is in my top 5 performers of all time now. He’s obviously older now, does more campy casino kind of stuff, but it’s still great. I’ve never not been successful at converting someone into a Pink Floyd fan, or a Robbie fan, when starting with the right song to get them hooked.

There’s a great Netflix documentary about him Linda. A great watch. A worldwide sensation selling out stadiums worldwide but never made America and that was just how he liked it because that’s where he lives. He loves going out and nobody knowing who he is

Robbie startet in a boygroup named "Take That" and they had great success. But then he left to start his solo career.
He was HUGE almost everywhere in the world in the early 2000s... except the US.
From the concert in Knebworth, I also recommend "Let me entertain you", "Feel", "Me and my monkey"

He's fantastic, isn't he? this whole show is perfect, and if you want some more of his career you should definitely check him with his previous band, Take That, they're also amazing! you'd probably enjoy something from the Progress Tour in 2011, when they reunited, which is absolutely massive as well - they filled out Wembley on eight nights there!

Found this after your Coming Up reaction landed on my home page and as both a Beatles and McCartney fan and a Take That and Robbie Williams fan, I’m very glad I found your channel and that you’d like to check out more Robbie. Some Robbie song suggestions are Feel, Come Undone, Tripping, Radio, and Road To Mandalay. Also seconding the recommendation to check out some of Progress Live with Take That as well as checking out Take That separate from Robbie. You can start with the 90s stuff like Back For Good, Pray, and Never Forget but they really came into their own after 2006 with songs like Shine, Patience, Kidz, Hey Boy, and Brand New Sun.

There have been many over the years including the rolling stones and Pink Floyd many other top line artists & if I remember rightly the warm up group on the 3 cosecutive nights was "Lynard Skynard " 175k each night !!Mums Daughters & Grandaughters. This is a fabulous example why pop stars take drugs , due to the fact they dont wanna come down from this type of atmosphere . Must be amazing 60.000 singing your song . Robbie has had mental issues and has taken drugs prescribed and not . Robbie not my cup of tea music wise , but always will respect him as a great performer , singer and person

Not even remotely true, the original demo version was written together in conjunction between robbie and Hefferman, who is quoted as saying "I essentially signed a waiver of my rights to the song for 7,500 and the rest is musical history" stealing it would be implying that he never had anything to do with the song in the first place
