You’d love the Maud Foster (Bargate drain), it’s as you go into Boston on the Horncastle road. Also the Hobhole drain 10 mins away. Both superb fishing and mostly picturesque.
Absolutely, I know them well, lived on Willoughby Road for a while when I was a young man. Based in Norfolk now. My brother who features in this video loves the Hobhole, with memories from his teens, but these days it seems many of the old swims are overgrown, or the banks feel steeper!
Haven't fished the Trader since the 70's - when you could win matches with 2-3lbs. Now we are sulky if we don't walk away from commercials without 50+. One day i'll go back for some real fishing. I'll give double jaffa cake a try......
I prefer the 'natural' rivers to the commercial fisheries myself (though of course these drains are mostly man-made too). Fishing is a good excuse to be out in nature, that's the main reason I go. 👍

That’s a great little video, well made and really captures the tranquility of the days fishing.
Thanks Damian, Alana edited this one for me. We had a relaxing couple of days.
Used to be heavily match fished many years ago! Not now so nice places to pleasure fish
Yes, my Dad was a match angler back in those days. In this video my brother and I just enjoyed some relaxing fishing, chilling out. That's the way!
Great video!!
Thanks!
Sibsey near Boston?
Yes, indeed.

@@Mr_CMH man made but not overstocked, so more of an achievement when you catch!
