Really love that if you say you're only going to use one brand you actually do. So many youtubers say that they're doing a full face of one brand but then they forget lots of products and just use other products (many times not even in the same price range). Love that there was no foundation so you just made do with the concealer!!!
Emily, could you do a video comparing ELF'S products side by side.. the lower to higher end lines from them?! Showcasing the differences between the products?!
I don't know why, but the single shadows really stick out in my memory from the original ELF line. I remember that they had this little white palette you could get to snap four single shadows in, and I felt like that was just SO revolutionary at the time, that you could customize your own little quads.
man I really miss the $1 elf single eyeshadows! the quality was great for the handful I had, and now that everyone is getting back into singles I hope elf rereleases them
Something that has always stood out to me with the elf brand is that it’s not like I ever feel like I’m simply buying inexpensive elf make up & just trying to “make it work”. Elf is just good! I always have something in my rotation that I’m using & loving. Matter of fact, I think elf might be my top 2 most used & loved drugstore brands.
I'm blonde, and the Elf brow pencil in taupe is literally the best match I've ever had. Dark enough to actually fill but doesn't end up looking brown. Blondies have it rough with brow matching I think! It's literally the only brow product I ever buy.
That's crazy because I love the $2 elf brow pencil in taupe and I have medium/dark brown hair. It meshes in so good with my sparse brows. It seems to take on a brown tone in my brows.
My hair is salt & pepper and the taupe pencil is my favorite. I always buy at least two so I always have a backup on hand and you can't beat the price!
aka Constantine I have the same problem it makes me wanna be a brunette sometimes cuz every brow pencil in the drug store just looks like a light brown. I have blonde blonde hair n it looks insane when my brows r bold so I just have given up n grow my brows to be naturally as appealing as possible. God forbid I never to fill them in 😂
I love their tiny 1 dollar brush, I think it is called concealer brush. I use it to clean up manicure, dip it in polish remover and clean around my nails to remove any polish smudges. Works great for that! Great video Emily, Have a wonderful weekend!
Emily, I HAVE to start by saying that your skin looks AMAZING!! I also REALLY appreciate the way you come into videos like this one with no preconceived judgments about the products or their quality. Throughout your time on TH-cam, you've ALWAYS remained honest, fair, genuine & authentic. Regardless of the success you've obtained, you've stayed grounded &...frankly like "one of us," & DEFINITELY someone I'd be friends with IRL.
The E.L.F. $2 felt tip liner used to be the only eye liner I would use. My mom also used it for the longest time. I kind of want to go pick one up when my current liner runs out now
I still use my dollar spoolie from elf and a flat eyeshadow shader brush. Emily, how sweet of you to give a shout out to Lipgloss Leslie! You were the reason I checked out her videos years ago, but she does seem so sweet and love her videos. How wonderful to see women supporting other women. Not sure why she doesn’t have as many viewers as others!
I love that white pearl highlighter! It's perfect for a subtle highlight & doesn't have any glitter particles. It's gorgeous as an inner corner highlight 😍
Elf tweezers are THE BOMB!! Not cheap and flimsy at all. They are high quality and catch even the smallest fine hairs. They work better than any high end brand I've tried.
I remember when I was trying out makeup and I didn’t have money. I started to look for cheap make up and I came across your videos 🙂 it’s bring back so many good memories of early TH-cam days! Thank you for this !
Back in the day when it was all $1-$3. It's gone up quite a bit! Thankfully they still have some stuff but not really. I am thankful that Wet N Wild has improved but not raised prices 🙌
I still use some of the $1 eye brushes! I feel like quality control has been an issue in the past- some would be great, others would lose half their bristles. Hopefully less of an issue now!
I love it when you do these types of videos Em. There’s still a lot of people that can only spend E.L.F. Prices on makeup. And, it shows you don’t think too highly of yourself to help those that can’t afford high end makeup. Way to go Em!!⭐️
Oh yeah! I actually remember you doing an elf video using some of their one dollar products a couple of years ago. Does this ring a bell to anyone else?
I have one that's got to be 8 or 9 years old, lol! The handle broke off years ago, but I still use it, kabuki style, to put on my liquid foundation! 😄 it just works, I can't throw it out!
I love ELF's Total Face Brush ($2). I use it daily for my setting powder. It has wonderful softness & is a little more dense (not floppy) which is my preference. I'm also a huge fan of that $2 Instant Lift Brow Pencil that you used. It has just the right creaminess; not too waxy & not too creamy. I stay stocked, as it's another daily-used product! 😊 💖 👍🏻 🌷
I have a stand alone spoolie brushes (I don't remember the brand) that I use to help with my mascara if it comes on too strong and clumpy. It helps to separate my lashes and take some of the product off...it's saved my butt hundreds of times! Great video, Em! xx
Love the ELF brushes. I have quite a few from years back and they still work wonders. You look radiant as always and your techniques for your shadows always amazes me.
Yes, Elf is very Hit or Miss, but I have to say I've had more hits than misses. I think the biggest surprise for me was their super cheap setting spray that locks everything in tight and is great! I'm on a pretty tight budget and Elf is one of the brands I go to so I can stretch a buck and I'm happy to have them around.🌻
Have you done a petite palette collection like the viseart the peach the Voss and many more I am obsessed with little palettes. I think it would be fun to go through your stash and see how many you actually have 😍
Love your Saturday morning uploads. It always uploads right around the time my daughter's waking up. It's part of my Saturday morning routine. Emily video, make coffee, feed the babe, unload dishwasher. 👍 Thanks for being part of my sleepy Saturday mornings.
I just wanted to say how nice it is that you are always so happy and cheerful in your videos. Some TH-camrs are such gloomy gusses. You really do give the cheaper products a fair shot and not just automatically feel that it won't work. Great video.
Happy sunshiny Saturday morning, Emily. You always end up with a beautiful look. The thickness did not come in at coat 3, lol. When my friends are wanting to start using liquid eyeliner, I always recommend the e.l.f. to practice with!! I like the e'l.f. lipstick remover. Blessings, and love..MaryEllen
Those little brightening eye quads with the four shadows in the triangles were my absolute favourite. Also they had some really nice $1 blushes. And all the "sugar kiss" stuff, which was like their fun "teen" line.
Your elf eyebrow pencil recommendation has been life changing! I have RA in my hands and struggle with the shaped eyebrow pencils or using pomades. The elf pencil is so easy!
When I was younger and knew nothing of makeup, I remember buying elf because you recommended it! To this day, I still love the eye brow pencil, the gel and the lip exfoliator! Thank you, Emily! 💓
I love that you come up with such wonderful content and create amazing videos that are affordable and budget friendly. You always have a way of making makeup so much fun
I love how realistic your makeup techniques are... And you just use all the products your just reviewing and not using another products just to patch up the products that you don't have. 😊
I am feeling nostalgic, the very first videos I started watching on YT in 2010 were beauty videos. I searched for affordable makeup and always your elf videos come up☺️
The brow pencil!! Omg.. I have tried other brands but.. Nothing can match this one. Perfect color match, perfect formula, lasts aaaalll day. The blending and crease brushes are absolutely perfect for the finicky, powdery, softly pressed eye shadows in my collection. The just deposit and blend so beautifully without making a muddy mess.. Yup! Elf is an awesome brand for me!
I love when you do these videos. I think you give the best, most informative and accurate videos on drugstore/cheap make up. As for what I used to buy from elf back in their dollar days? Mascara and eyeliner and basic shadow It's really all I wore at the time but they were great and I still go for the eyeliner now.
So much nostalgia! Elf brushes were the first makeup brushes I ever owned and Ruby Slippers was my JAM! I wore that lip color every single day. Oh and the brow gel 🙌🏻 I used to NEVER leave the house without that stuff, even if it was the only thing I had on my face. I loved this video! 💁🏻♀️❤️🙌🏻
I love the elf total face brush. I use it for blush, it gets the job done and for only $2, it’s a win-win! My daughter loves their $2 finishing powder and $2 blush. And I agree with you Emily, the smudge brush is very good!
I ❤ a good walk down memory lane in this vid! I do remember when ELF first began. It was one of those brands that surprised me even then. I probably first tried their brushes and lipsticks..
I have had the larger elf crease/ blending brush that you used for several years now and I use it nearly everyday, have washed it many times and even traveled with it and it still looks and performs as good as NEW! It is seriously amazing and I can't recommend it enough. I even got the same one for my mom and its been great for her too!
The Elf kabuki brush was my go-to foundation brush for a really long time. Brushes and lip products were my faves, also the eye primer with the doe foot was my first ever eye primer. So many “starters” from this line!
That ruby slipper gloss looks gorgeous on you! I can never find the small tapered brush, but I use their highlighting brush for all sorts of things, most often for setting the under eye area. It's great for targeted powdering, and I have three of them now because I use them so much!
The 3-in-1 mascara by elf is a must for me. Not so much because of the way it makes my lashes look (although it’s not terrible) but because it’s the only formula that doesn’t smudge on me. I’ve used low-end and high-end máscaras but they all smudge on me. So now I use the mascara I want for volume and length and then as a last step, I’ll use the elf mascara to “set” my lashes so that the mascara I use doesn’t smudge. I hope they never discontinue it because I’d be a smudgy mess without it! Something about that formula just stays put!
The first beauty video I EVER watched was one of your elf hauls from years ago. You were the TH-camr that started me on my journey with makeup and such. So THANK YOU, Emily!!! This took me back, and makes me want to take a walk down videos past lane. So much fun. I still have an elf quad eyeshadow palette. I can't get rid of it even though it has a crack now in the packaging. Ha!
Yes, the elf liquid eyeliner comes off near the tear duct . I use the NYX waterproof retractable eyeliner first and then line it with the elf liquid eyeliner and it stays so very well. It's my secret combo lol. I use that combo because I have allergy eyes lol and watery eyes. It works too. Have a BLESSED week sweet sister! GOD BLESS YOU and your FAMILY ALWAYS! 😊👍💟💞💝💘💗💖💕💓💜💛💚💙💋💄👠👜👛😊👍💟💞💝💘💗💖💕💓💜💛💚💙💋💄👠👜👛😊👍
Their customer service was so good for me. I had a problem with a delivery and they were working with me all the way. And all the products were very good as well
Curled up in bed with your video Saturday late morning in the UK- I put it on and took a deep breath and felt my shoulders relax. Thanks for being such a warm space on the internet! Did my makeup with The Wants yesterday for a photoshoot- it was such fun
My favorite thing i remeber getting from elf for a dollar was their build your own eyeshadow palette. I loved going into the store and picking different eyeshadows to go into my empty palette
Hi Emily! What a sweet and thoughtful thing to shout out my sweet friend @lipglossleslie 😊 Shes truly a gem and couldn't agree with you more!! I was with her this morning at an event, and she's just so fun and genuine and deserving for the recognition! This made me love you even more!!! You're the best and I sure do love you! XOXO Michelle
My favorite ELF product used to be the quads you were talking about because they fit MAC eyeshadows, and I could create my own MAC quads. I still have one. I also used to like the shimmery liquid highlighters in a squeeze tube and the lip glosses that came up through the brush like the old school Stila ones. These days I use several of the eye brushes you mentioned for packing on shadow, defining the crease, or smudging the lower lash line (small brush work kinda stuff). I think they’re great!
Really love that if you say you're only going to use one brand you actually do. So many youtubers say that they're doing a full face of one brand but then they forget lots of products and just use other products (many times not even in the same price range). Love that there was no foundation so you just made do with the concealer!!!
Jen Farina agreed! Such a pet peeve when influencers are like, “oops forgot a 2 dollar concealer so guess I’ll use my YSL.”😂
Jen Farina I also love that when she does substitute it’s often off camera so it doesn’t ruin the flow of the one brand.
Elf was there for me when my wallet wasn’t
Amen 🙏🏼
So true
Yes!!
I agree and their sales on their websites are so good. I have gotten so much for 50/60 % off.
T Mac Me too! I recently got their Mad For Matte palette for $4.
I’d love to see a similar video with the studio line 😀
Kristen Potts Me too !
Me three!
Yes! And then compare the two to see what's worth the price increase!
Me four and me as well on the compare the two. That would be awesome. I betcha some of the dollar things would win.. 😉 enjoy everyone.
Me too!
Emily, could you do a video comparing ELF'S products side by side.. the lower to higher end lines from them?! Showcasing the differences between the products?!
Lippie Mrs such a smart idea
I love this video idea! Can you plz do one for Wet n Wild $2-3 products
Am I the only one who Smiles through a whole EmilyNoel video? She's always so chipper for so early in the morning!
Bobbie Morton early morning? Lol it's almost midnight here in Perth, Australia

You’re not. I smile all the way through too. 😁

I'm a dirty blonde redhead and I also use the Taupe brow pencil! It's a great color!

Aimee Lasher it’s definitely my favorite eye liner pen! I actually keep at least one backup one on hand at all times!
My favorite liner also!
I swear by it even now!
I buy 3 or 4 at a time. You can't beat the price for a good quality liner.
They changed the brushes from natural to synthetic! That's why they're so soft now :)
I still use my dollar spoolie from elf and a flat eyeshadow shader brush. Emily, how sweet of you to give a shout out to Lipgloss Leslie! Drama-free channels don't grow explosively. It's usually a slow burn to those but worth the labor.
The eye primer! The little tube of pink whipped cream stuff! The blushes! The tweezers! Love ELF 😋 happy Saturday Emily and friends! 💜
I love that white pearl highlighter! It's perfect for a subtle highlight & doesn't have any glitter particles. It's gorgeous as an inner corner highlight 😍
Those are the best sharpeners....so if you dont keep the pencil, keep the lid. It works on other pencils and gives it a nice sharp tip!
Great tip! I'm always looking for a good sharpener that doesn't either dull too quickly or just not sharpen well.
Elf tweezers are THE BOMB!! Not cheap and flimsy at all. They are high quality and catch even the smallest fine hairs. They work better than any high end brand I've tried.
i love love LOVE their lip exfoliator! have a good saturday Emily 💕
one of my top ELF faves for sure!
I love those too
Omg yes, I've tried a few others and always come back to this

I used to love that thing!!
Oh yeah! Do they still sell that one? I loved it as well.
I looove that brush! It's so soft, I member recommending it to everyone😁Still have it in my collection, updated version of course
I have one that's got to be 8 or 9 years old, lol! The handle broke off years ago, but I still use it, kabuki style, to put on my liquid foundation! 😄 it just works, I can't throw it out!
I love Lipgloss Leslie. She always does amazing tutorials and besides you inspires me in new makeup looks. Nice shoutout.

I use a spoolie to separate lashes before mascara, and like you do if it gets too clumpy or too much. Elf's 1.00 spoolie is my favorite!
@@marylove909 I do the same with separating my lashes, too. 🙂
You can't miss with Elf products! They have so much variety for all skin types. The price points are always great. Thanks Elf!!

Love the ELF brushes. I have quite a few from years back and they still work wonders.
You look radiant as always and your techniques for your shadows always amazes me.

ELF's 1 dollar spoolie brush is the best spoolie I've ever bought!
The Elf $1 "concealer" brush is my holy grail nail polish clean up brush. It's absolutely perfect for cleaning up and doesn't fall apart in acetone.
I love their brow wax and powder duo. Have used that for years
I've seriously been searching the past few days for videos talking about old elf products. Thank you, Emily!
Those little brightening eye quads with the four shadows in the triangles were my absolute favourite. Also they had some really nice $1 blushes. And all the "sugar kiss" stuff, which was like their fun "teen" line.
I absolutely love lipgloss leslie! she is just the cutest and always makes me smile. her channel is great! highly recommend
I love that elf still carries these “old school” products! I still use their shimmering facial whip!
I have a light medium/olive skin tone and that brick blush is one of my favorites! It's beautiful, especially for the "draping" method
I literally own 10 pairs of the $1 elf slanted tweezers!! I love them!
I have some of the original brushes. The powder brush is SO scratchy. Glad to know they fixed that. Elf is still a favorite at the drugstore
I love elf products - the prices can't be beat! I love the primer and their brushes the best. Their blush and bronzer works well for me too.
Emily thank you so much for covering less expensive makeup!
Trying to become a morning person is worth it today!!!
Ankita Gadkari omg yessss💗💗💗

Mascara and eyeliner and basic shadow

Their customer service was so good for me. I had a problem with a delivery and they were working with me all the way. And all the products were very good as well
ELF was the brand I was raving for during my youth days. This video gives me so much nostalgia!
The tweezers! You cant beat the price and they’re great for someone like me who misplaces things like that far too often
I adore their eyeshadow brushes. I have mine like for 10 years more or less. I adore them so much!
