I’m learning how to play the actual game as a mid 30 year old father of a 6 year old who loves the collecting aspect and wants to play the game. It is a fun way to bond and learn more about the cards and what makes the rare cards worth so much. So I say go for it, learn and take us through the journey.
Answer is yes! You should play it. Try playing Battle Academy with your kids and you’ll catch up fast and have a good time. Don't go to Live straight away, Meta now is too broken with Charizard, Lost Box, Roaring Moon etc. If you're a beginner it can be demoralizing to play… so just start slowly and you'll have a lot of fun 🎉
No I'm 27 got back into it after like 15 years because my girlfriends cousins asked me to teach them how to play. It took me a few months but I got the hang of the new format and it's my favorite hobby to do. Thursday nights and the weekends can't come faster! I've made a lot of close friends over the last 1.5 years of being back in the game
I just started playing in December and I’m loving it! 90s kid and I also play with other 30+ year old adults! Its a lots of fun. Go to your LGS and ask around!
You're fine and can easily learn how to play. I suggest learning on the online game. I'm 30 and really just learned how to play the past 6 months. Online will help you understand everything initially. Playing in real life is a lot different since you have to shuffle and do everything yourself. Would be dope for you to collab with someone on learning to play Like CTR or Rev or whoever. Then yall build your decks, and play in a small tournament against each other. That way it is a noob vs a noob.
Yes. Sean, it's never too late to learn anything, so definitely will check out your journey to learn the game. Temporal forces seems to have brutal pull rates, I stuck to Japanese wild force and Cyber judge, managed to get all the AR singles from both sets for $30, all the lovely art 😂
Booster boxes are great. Already got most of the set out of 2 booster boxes. The SIR and the Gold cards are tough to pull. Haven't got any of those in 76 packs opened so far. We do have 9 IR and 4 full art ex cards. We have all but 3 of the regular ex cards.
Yeah, Danny Phantump opened 1851 boosters to complete the master set Edit: From booster boxes. He did open other products aswell but didnt count them in the total although some pulls may have been added into the master set
Speaking of artwork on the cards, I once again vouch for Sie Nanahara. Amazing work on the Shiftry in this set and for example Ninetales from Obsidian Flames. True talent right there. And yes you should definetly play, no doubt you'll pick it up fast :) Make Rev and CTR learn too and have a little tournament :D
I’m 48, and got into collecting Pokemon thanks to you, Rev, CTR, Vert, and Reddit (I used to collect sports and played Magic cards as a teen). If you’ve ever played Magic, or any RPG, Pokémon Live is pretty simple and straightforward. You’ll learn quick.
Yes. Yes it is. You should give it a try. I’d say online is the best place to learn the current game. I played back in elementary school when the OG sets came out, and I was lost trying to play the current game for a bit. Online gives you a tutorial battle with instruction, and goes through some of the most basic of concepts. There’s some wild decks out there right now that dominate the competitive scene, like the Zard EX deck, which all revolve around getting a zard onto your bench as quick as possible, because it’s ability gives it the energy it needs to attack.
It'd be fun to catch a how to play as you learn how to play strongly in competitive. I played back in the day (base-gym heroes) but there's a lot that's new mechanically
I would LOVE to see more content featuring Sir Vault opening Temporal Forces!! Thank you for sharing! Me and the family are really enjoying this set! Beautiful artwork!
Release day I opened a gold Iron Leaves & Acespec Neo Energy. Felt pretty lucky. Hoping to find the Chatot art card! Definitely recommend learning as I am myself.
I dont think it is ever too late to get into playing the TCG. I just got back into it after not playing for years and everyone at the events have been supportive and helped me out a lot! You should go for it!
Love the Iron Leaves SAR! My AR chase in this set is that Deerling/Sawsbuck combo art! I love the artwork! Definitely should try playing a bit. You can teach the kiddos too! Have little tournaments with them lol
@Poke Vault Sean, I was not excited for this set, then I opened a booster bundle...the art work is absolutely 🔥 in this set! Absolutely love the Ace Spec cards and the alt art works look great. What you need to do is play tcg online! I just started playing a couple weeks ago, but it's helping to learn the game!! I'm 43 and didn't think I could learn this game but, it's happening. I think it would be cool to see the Vault leader himself play pokemon tcg! PS. I got my mail, thanks so much!! 👊
I definitely don't think you're too old. I'm 30 and just learned how to play. The "board game" Battle Academy is pretty thorough teaching you basics, Pokemon TCG online does pretty good too.
I want to see Vault training for tcg play. I learned last year to play with my kids. Its fun. You can do it, i did. Its been a fun format to play so far, just glad for rotation and new mechanics.
My take on you learning to play the Pokemon TCG is that it should be pretty easy as I am also looking to learn to play pretty soon as well. My boyfriend says that Pokemon TCG is too easy as kids play it at the highest level as well, and I should probably get into playing Yu-gi-oh if I want any challenge. Apparently it bores him a bit now, but then again, he played it as a kid where as my dad told me it was evil and not to get, watch, or play with anything Pokemon. I say if I am a few years shy of 30 and I am highly considering playing, you should too! Even if we are worse than kids at the game, lets all give the Pokemon TCG a shot at least
Your mind is not too old to play the game - as much as we love making fun of your age; I just turned 33 and I've been playing for a year now. It's addictive and very easy to pickup the basics, I say go for it man!
It would be interesting to see poke vault get into this new meta fresh off of rotation, I’d love to see him pilot goofy decks like the great tusk mill.
I think you can definitely play the game! It's easy to learn the basics! I started learning this year, and I'm having a blast playing! It really adds value to a lot of cards I used to think were useless until I see them in action.
I just bought a few blisters if temporal forces, and the Raging bolt full art was my best pull, I actually enjoyed this set so far, can't wait for that booster box though.
You should try to learn to play, and maybe take us along for the adventure. I do agree though the sets are coming way to fast. Feels like the next set is almost out while we are still just getting our hands on the set before for our first openings.
Not sure how I feel about it. I opened two ETBs and a BB. Pull rates were rough for me. Artwork is pretty clean, but woulda liked some fire in it! My kids and I enjoyed the video!!
I can say that learning the game and playing with the new set it's been a challenge finding the perfect deck. And we are the same age so yeah Pokevault, you can manage to play too. Good luck on your battles.
Hey what’s good vault, I think you should watch a how to video with us and learn together I just started playing competitive at 34 years old lol. I thought it was a young sprouts game, a game of young athletes and here I am slapping everyone in tcg live lmao but honestly it’s fun and cool to learn with others I’m glad you liked this set I’m trying to master set it
At 43 learning to play the game is not something I’m going to do… collecting is enough for me. No doubt this is a tough set to pull from, but it won’t stop me collecting it, the art work is amazing
The game's fun! I'm around your age and its great to play. The app is a fantastic way to get into the game, it helps you'll have a zillion code cards too. Also i def agree that the sets come too fast, its annoying having to switch decks around every few months as a player, and I feel spread too thin on buying stuff as a collector
I'm honestly just getting back into opening cards as I stopped after binders being stolen when moving as a kid had 2 full binders 1999 Pokémon 1st edition all gone but let's get back to it again. Enjoying your content keep it up
Really enjoyed opening this set, some great pulls love to see latios back as well! I think, controversially the ace specs will be great for collectors!
The artwork is better than swsh, the problem is, the pokemon they choose for the sets are meh, or they do some stuff like really screw with the legendary dogs looks. Let's take Raikou who looks like a dope saber tooth tiger, and turn him into a brontosaurus with a cloud around his neck. Dafug? All for alternate versions and the paradox idea, but they could've actually made them cool. Iron Leaves and Iron Crown are dope though.
Tough box, kinda felt like Paldea Evolved but like the set. Would like to see Vault learn the game, am an old man too and am intimidated by the idea of going to a local game store and playing with a bunch of kids who know the game in and out. Wish local game stores had an old man’s beginner night.
I would love to see vault try to pick up TCG, if anything it could serve as a tutorial for someone who's getting into it themselves, and gives an opportunity to get your local card shop involved.
nah man i'm 31 and i started the tcg game when i started collecting last year, best thing i can tell you, read your cards, you can follow the meta but reading is critical and important in deck building as well, i could teach you a few stuff
It's not hard to learn to play, like the actual, what you can do in your turn and when your turn is over and then when your appointment goes. but what's hard is strategy and how to build a deck. I think it'd be interesting to see him learn it, But I don't know how to really channel that into a video. Unless he does like a trip to a league night and makes it a more social aspect kind of like he does with his garage sale videos
It would be awesome to see you learn how to play the game! Let’s see some content on it! Also I agree the art is amazing and I think this is definitely a prime time for collecting cool cards.
Rotation(cards with letter E become illegal) is next Friday the 5th and a good amount of these cards are changing the meta. Specifically the ace specs.
Learning the tcg would definitely help with tracking the spikes and drops in value from cards that are meta so you know if it’s an investment opportunity or just a meta card
I LOVE THE TCG ITS SO FUN! I downloaded the app on my phone recently, it makes it easy to play when you don't have the time or money to make physical decks
This set and next set artworks are legit some of the most stunning artworks Pokémon has printed. Ever
I agree. IDK why there's so much hate for the SV ERA of cards. I personally think the artwork is top tier.
@@str8nashtygaming466 🤘
They are very crispy

We're not degenerates we're art collectors 🧐🤌
We are degenerate art collectors

The artwork in temporal forces is some of the best in my opinion, I have a chunk I really like even in the normal cards and not just the SIRs etc.
PokeVault needs to win Nationals! Can some one train this old man? "We Going To The Ship! What"?!
Hardball!
My son and I loved the artworks in this set. And of course we want to see an old dog learn new tricks!
Artworks in this era are honestly getting much better!! and honestly never too late to start playing the game!!!
No I'm 27 got back into it after like 15 years because my girlfriends cousins asked me to teach them how to play. I really would like to see how to play the game. I am also an ancient and have no idea how to play the TCG. A real beginners guide would be fun
I just started playing in December and I’m loving it! 90s kid and I also play with other 30+ year old adults! Its a lots of fun. Go to your LGS and ask around!

Pull rates seem tough with this set
Good. Makes the set more valuable.
I opened 15 packs today...one "hit"
@@jacobpitts6079 Rough!

Yeah, Danny Phantump opened 1851 boosters to complete the master set
Edit: From booster boxes. He did open other products aswell but didnt count them in the total although some pulls may have been added into the master set
I’m not a fan of the competitive side, but love watching the openings as a collector ❤
Omg, I just started collecting again. I picked up the 151 premium collection and had a blast with my family. It was pure nostalgia 😢
Convincing my parents Pokémon is an investment
Speaking of artwork on the cards, I once again vouch for Sie Nanahara. Amazing work on the Shiftry in this set and for example Ninetales from Obsidian Flames. True talent right there.

This is Very pink …..and then smells it 😂😂😂 I’m dead 💀
ace spec cards can be Meta if used correctly, more people will build decks around them for the new format
151 got me back into collecting since base set. I’m not really into new gen Pokémon typically, but I have REALLY been enjoying this set so far.
There's some amazing artworks in these upcoming sets and I'm all for it. Would love to see Mr. Vault learn the game!
Release day I opened a gold Iron Leaves & Acespec Neo Energy. Felt pretty lucky. Hoping to find the Chatot art card! Definitely recommend learning as I am myself.

I just started learning and I’m happy I did. Made it even more fun and a new way to look at the cards. You should definitely give it a shot
Temporal forces is bringing mode joy to ppl then most expected! The art works are amazing!❤
art is fire in this set. i do really like the illustration rares. bring on the content sir vault!
I agree with your artwork comment! No matter how I feel about any set or the Pokémon in it, the artwork is looking really good!
I’m actually really liking the artwork in this set! I’m now learning to play the tcg and I think you should too
i've tried learning on the app but haven't really learned much 🤷 maybe someday i'll learn but excited to open this new set!
Loved the opening and pulls, would love to see more content with Sir Vault! Temporal forces is looking better than expected!

I really like this set. Good artwork and my first package contained ACE prime catcher
"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball"
I'm starting to collect this set cos I love the artworks
It would be interesting to see poke vault get into this new meta fresh off of rotation, I’d love to see him pilot goofy decks like the great tusk mill.
I think it’d be cool to have videos showing how you’re learning the TCG
Shawn you should definitely play the game! It's so much fun!
Love the Iron Julius. Future version of Orange Julius 🍊 😂
I think you can definitely play the game! It's easy to learn the basics! I started learning this year, and I'm having a blast playing! It really adds value to a lot of cards I used to think were useless until I see them in action.
This set really surprised me with the artworks, even the commons and uncommons are nice. Also I’d love to see you try out the tcg!
Love the Gengar cards in this set! 👻
Gastly is best art in set
I just bought a few blisters if temporal forces, and the Raging bolt full art was my best pull, I actually enjoyed this set so far, can't wait for that booster box though.

I can say that learning the game and playing with the new set it's been a challenge finding the perfect deck. And we are the same age so yeah Pokevault, you can manage to play too. Good luck on your battles.
I tried learning the game on release day of AR. It is definitely a lot easier than MTG and can reach a wider audience. You should def give it a shot!
I'm liking this set already, pulls are harder, but the artwork is worth it for sure.
Hey what’s good vault, I think you should watch a how to video with us and learn together I just started playing competitive at 34 years old lol. I’m ready to watch his Rocky moment as he grinds the game and pulls the dramatic win out in the end!

This set has some pretty sick artworks and I'm chasing after that Grotle!

Yeah the artwork is great, as far as the TCG and Vault I’m all for it since I’ve never played myself either.
Would love to see some content of you learning or playing! It’s a lot of fun tbh
Absolutely should learn the game, just started myself and it’s a lot to take in but it gets really fun
You’re right Mr. Vault. Temporal Forces’ art is actually AMAZING.
You need to change your camera angle so we can see the cards a bit better.
The full art cards look insane
Respect to the older art works the new turn is interesting
YES to more Sir Vault content trying to learn a game he loves!
Tough box, kinda felt like Paldea Evolved but like the set. Would like to see Vault learn the game, am an old man too and am intimidated by the idea of going to a local game store and playing with a bunch of kids who know the game in and out. Wish local game stores had an old man’s beginner night.

I think you would be the next world champion if you got into the game 100%
I think it would be fun to see Vault learn the game. It’ll help to show that anybody can play
Yes, I’d love to see some content on that! It would be cool
Classic dodgeball quote. Would love to see some content on you learning TCG!!!
nah man i'm 31 and i started the tcg game when i started collecting last year, best thing i can tell you, read your cards, you can follow the meta but reading is critical and important in deck building as well, i could teach you a few stuff
It would be fun seeing Sean go to tourneys and do a little filming there on top of finding things at shops during local league days
You are so very right about them needing to let us enjoy the sets a bit more before we move on :O
You’re the Pokémon TH-cam version of Doc aka Dr Disrespect 😂 I love it bro!
I just started learning a few months ago at 33.. I think you should go for it.
I would love to see Poke Vault learning how to play! I think that would be fun and entertaining

Id love to see some content on TCG gameplay. Looking to get back into it myself!
Definitely a nice looking set, yeah for sure
I opened 6 booster boxes and 4 ETB's and hit rates are hard. Artwork is great so believe in this set. Keep the good vids coming👍
Love the artwork of this set!
Rotation(cards with letter E become illegal) is next Friday the 5th and a good amount of these cards are changing the meta. Specifically the ace specs.
YES!! I just started learning the TCG and wish I had sooner
Would be so much fun watching vault Hockey-trash-talk his way through a Pokémon game or two!
When they release paradox rift i totally loved ancient and future designs, and in these setnthe went nuts
You could always talk to Pat if you want to learn. I believe he knows how and you two could do a series together.
