Hello! I’ve donated twice in my life before, once when I was 6, and once when I was 10. I donated about 2 feet each time, and there is nothing more satisfying knowing you are helping others! I’m now growing my hair out again to donate. But donating your hair is the best thing you can do to help others!

I've cut and donate my haif before, and my suggestion is do donate longer than the minimum! Hair can shrink, and giving longer hair will give the wig makers more option to construct the wig. And do try bob, you might ending up liking it (I do). If not, well hair can always grow again. My advice for donation is do not make it so YOU feel good, but do it so you can to help OTHERS with it as much as possible

So i donated my hair once and it doesn’t matter at all if the hair is dyed. To make a complete wig, you need a minimum of three hair donations. No one has exactly the Same hair colour, so most of the time, they dye the hair themselves so it doesn’t matter if your hair is already dyed
I wanted to donate my hair but they said no hair that had chemical treatments or died it had to be done by a hairdresser and some other things too late I already cut it off
I have no regrets I cut 13 inches of and I love my hair and you still look beautiful as ever with your hair! It’s also a really nice thing to do for people who need a wig
it probably depends on the place its being donated to. The place i was thinking of donating to before needed the hair to be virgin and i think it was also at least 18 inches so i think it does just depend on the place its being donated to or where you live
I think it’s really great that you donated your hair although I would be careful to donate your hair to an organization that will give away the possible wig for free or for patients at the hospital rather than having rather than donating your hair and having them sell it for money!💗💗💗💗

In Poland minimum length of hair you can donate is 14 inches 💀 but it's so nice you did it, few people think of it before they get cancer and need a wig themselves...
I just cut my pass butt length hair, to pixie.. I need to look into an organization that would accept my color treated hair. I think I cut at least 25 inches off.
I donated my hair when my aunts made my cut it shoulder length I wanna say it was about a foot long that I donated it but I knew someone else could have made better use of it (I have/had people in my life who have suffered from cancer including my own grandmother who wore wigs for a short while when she still went out so if I can make someone like her feel better about themselves despite what they’re going through I’m all for it)

“Kind of freaking out because it’s so short” - woman who has hair that is way past shoulder-length. I only say this because I got a pixie from 2ft long ringlet curls. Idk. I guess I just don’t like that she’s treating the donation process as if it’s something that will make her a good person because it will help someone else and she was already going to cut her hair. I guess when you search for the “minimum length”, then send that in, it irks me because you’re doing the bare minimum to feel like a good person. But then again, those 8 inches of hair are better than none. But like. She had lots leftover. She could’ve done another couple inches and still had her face framed the same way as she did with the longer hair. That would’ve given the charity more wiggle room for what they could do with her hair. Also like… I’m sure lots of people send in 8 inches because that’s the minimum. But then they can only make short-hair wigs. I don’t know.

I donated my hair a while ago. I cut it in a bob because I thought those looked cute looked terrible on me but I was so happy I donated. I would measure my hair every couple weeks to make sure it was longer than the minimum
I went to get a hair cut the other day. I said cut off 3 inches please and well i think she heard only leave 3 inches and now I have a super short bob that I absolutely hate and she cut off a ft of pure blonde never been dyed blonde hair. I know it's only hair but when you arnt ready for it there is lots of shock and tears.
Girl! I used to have really long hair. Like, down to my butt. And then I finally convinced my mom to let me get it chopped off. So I went from REALLY long to my shoulders. Needless to say, it’s weird to think that someone is probably wearing my hair right now🤣

I shaved off my hair, into a grade 3 buzz cut, and I had to walk with my thicc hair that was put into two long ponytails, through a busy town and two girls audibly gasped when they saw me.
My hair was at my waist and I was bored of long hair so I cut it like most boys would have it 😅. I donated it to a trust called The little Princess Trust.

You can't donate dyed hair. I've tried. Maybe to a salon or something to practice on. But not for wigs
