Heard this track today (oh, the treasured memories it brings to mind, from way back in the day...) while at the supermarket... busted a move down the isle - with my grocery cart as my dance partner.
Got home, went online and ordered the CD.
Always loved listening to the talented Bill Withers (R.I.P., Sir...) singing this song - yet, this cover version is absolutely amazing, as well!
How could someone not like this song?! Such a light, inviting good time vibe. And this is coming from someone who grew up on real punk rock, metal and 90’s alternative.
I think it’s because they went wayyy out of tune in some parts of this song

Good music but bad times socially. The 80s brought the war on drugs and crack epidemic. It is the era when the prison system grew into the millions. The end of the 80s is when gangsta rap, which reflected the streets became mainstream (NWA). And the fashion in the 80s was horrid. But I still loved the 80s because I was a child. I turned 18 in 95.
