GoPed Rebuild, Will They Run? Minimoto

We are working on two original GoPeds that have not been started in over 4 years. My Goped is older as it has no centrifugal clutch and the motor lowers and rises with a lever. My brother is newer, not sure by how much, but his has a centrifugal clutch so the spindle is always resting on the tire. We got them running but they still need some fine tuning to get them to run in top shape.
In the next Goped video, we will be taking them on their first run in over 4 years.

And for yours try upgrading to a wt-668 carb with a velocity stack and a air filter, and a rokit key that will get you more performance and it will run a ton better

Ive bought, fixed and sold maybe close to 100 back before the electric ones came out. Mostly as a hobby, because there was no real money in it. That one with the squared cylinder is a geo engine. A hybrid reed & non reed mix. They are difficult to get running right. Although i found a way to tune them. The needle that runs down the barrel of the carb can be turned with thin needle nose pliers a bit at a time. Try one way, and see of it gets better or worse. Too bad there weren’t many with the tiny adjustment screw at the top of the barrel like many other barrel carbs have. Also the gaskets and side reed hoses crack and get air leaks. Otherwise they be the most efficient engine. Was the most efficient engine back when they were invented. But very finicky. Once they are right they run ok, just never perfect. I still have one that runs pretty well, but it is the chain drive newer model. Have fun!

for the slower one get a slightly bigger spindle. also i would get a gasket set change, crankcase, head, manifold , carb. try to clean up the deposits in the cylinder and top of the piston, if its a thick amount get vinegar and a toothbrush and you can literally brush it off.. i woundlnt advise scraping it off.. also a 3rd bearing kit if you want the best results i kid you not it will run for many years more,, G23lh is the small one and Gzns25 is the slighty bigger one. is the slighty bigger one. i had a Gzns25 sitting on the balcony for a long time then i think my roomate threw it away lol... i replace the motor with a G240rc then a G290rc, as of now im running a G320rc.. aswell going for the G340rc

On your brothers Goped all you need is a jet from an lh carb the current jet you have is more than likely to small

More than likely it needs the carb clean as this machines are simple as they come. Carb cleaner works great to get them going and you can also try sea foam.

Try disconnect the kill switch wire. Try to start. I bet u it will start up.
